I am new to Airbrushing. I did a lot of research and settled on this kit, based on youtube reviews, amazon reviews and resources such as Don Wheeler's Airbrushing tips (search for Don's Airbrushing Tips, he has many good reviews of various brushes). I do not use the G22 airbrush since it is not very beginner friendly (according to reviews and my very limited experience). I bought a Badger 105 Patriot with a fine tip and I like it better than the G22. (it needs a male quick disconnect tip to be compatible with this quick connect). Whatever airbrush you decide to get, it's suggested to get another needle as a backup. I got a medium conversion kit for the Badger patriot as well, both as a back up and because a larger needle is more forgiving with regard to clogging.

I feel that this kit is great for a beginner to intermediate user. There is good value in what is included, purchasing the compressor, paints, and airbrush cleaning pot (the glass jar) adds up to nearly the price of this package.

The mixing sticks are like tongue depressors (I break them in 1/2 or 1/4's so they feel more appropriately sized). The paint set included 5 primary colors in the "opaque" line, 6 colors in the transparent line, and a pearlized white. The manual recommends giving a 15 minute rest break for every 10 minutes of use, and the air compressor will get hot after a while, but it will continue operating. Since my main purpose is to airbrush wargaming miniatures and terrain for said miniatures this works for me.

For practice exercises I would suggest checking "airbrushtutor" on youtube, or on his site. For gaming miniatures I would suggest checking out SchnauzerFaceMinis (youtube or site as well). Happy airbrushing.

I purchased this for my Dad for christmas and he has absolutely enjoyed using it. He uses it to paint wood mostly and it has done very well. The kit provided him with everything he needed to get started, so he didn't have to wait for a store to open to go buy something to make it work. It was all there. Plugged it in, poured some paint and now everything around the house is a different color...lol. In fact he has purchased even more equipment. Everything has worked as it should and hasn't broken or not performed over the last 3 months since he has had it. He tells me that this is the best xmas present he has had in years. So definately a good choice for the hobbyist.

There was no instructional DVD, as listed in the item description. Assembly instructions are very sparse. I can't speak to the quality of the included airbrush, as I'm using it with a unit that I already had. The compressor is very quiet and works well. The paints included appear to be good quality standard brands, in opaque and translucent. Everything was well packaged and undamaged. Overall, I'm very pleased, for the price.

Cheap Staedtler Lumocolor Non-Permanent Overhead Projection Markers

The pens give a clear distinct line when writing formulas or making diagrams. I find it's better to use the fine-tip markers for writing text based notes to be taken by the students. I started using the Lumocolor pens when the most modern thing was overhead projectors; they were always excellent. They resisted accidental erasure by the brush of a hand or cuff of a shirt yet they did erase easily with a kleenex or soft paper towel.

I've got big hands, am 60 years old, a lot of years of construction and the hands just don't have the finesse to deal with the standard airbrush controls yet I haven't given up. A lot of hesitation on purchasing this, but I bit and have absolutely no regrets. A bit of confusion on shipping charges, that was promptly and courteously handled by TCP Global. I've ordered a number of things from them and asked for help on paints and paint sprayers and am very impressed. Honest answers.

The assortment of needles extends the versatility as does the three sizes of cups it comes with. This airbrush is giving me great control, functioning very well, trigger is smooth to operate (something I wondered about). A bit of lube does help (I'm using Iwata Super Lube). Any questions, feel free to ask. Oh, its easy to clean, the parts are large enough that they don't just vanish like some airbrushes.

An update: I like this airbrush better and better. I replaced the .5 needle it shipped with with the .8 and discovered quickly that the end tip (the part that protects the needle) is too small to be used with the .8. It picks up paint and spatters. Removed it, cleaned up the end, and works fine. It would have been a nice, inexpensive touch if a empty .5 tube and container were included for storing the .5 needle and nozzle. For me, it will be easy to mix them up.

The instructions are vague at best with unhelpful pictures. If the tag does not come out right you cannot recover the rim. The crimping tool flattened the rim very unevenly, there is nothing to hold the tag steady inside the tool. This is a specialized tool with tool specific materials that does not work the way it should, do not waste your time and money on this product.

Makes cutting small pieces easy and makes for a better block.

Do not like the fact that if you only want one size block that it cuts the entire mat. I have started putting the unused portion of the die past the wanted cutting area before placing the mat on the die.

Problems:

1. *Not* brass hardware. I tested it with a magnet.

2. My easel was missing a screw, so I had to go to the hardware store to replace it.

Overall:

It's a solid easel for the price. I would give it 3.5 stars, but since it's falsely advertised with "brass" hardware, I bumped it down to a 3. The drawer is good for holding brushes, drawing devices, and 2 oz paint tubes. 5 oz paint tubes fit, but they take up most of the space. The legs and other joints do not extend with ease, but if you take your time they work fine.

The essel is ok. Does it's job for the most part but a few quirks. It's very hard to get it straight. I physically have to push it to the side while tightening just to get it almost level. And the legs are hard to tighten too. I thought I had them good and tight. But an hour into painting one leg had loosened and slipped a few inches. Oh and the upper clampy deal has a pretty big crack in it. That all said 65 bucks verses a couple hundred for a nice one. Still would go with this one.

Anyone who says that setting this thing up is "self-explanatory" must be in Mensa. There are no instructions and, contrary to what others have written, the photo doesn't help that much. I think I'm a fairly intelligent person, and it took me a good 20 minutes (lots of trial and error) to figure it out -and I'm still not sure I did it correctly. I definitely can't imagine taking it down and setting it up again, so the "portability" factor, in my opinion, is a bit of a misnomer. Maybe after we do it a few times (assuming I can muster the fortitude to even try), it might get easier.

As for the quality, it seems a bit rickety. Only time will tell how it will stand up to the abuse of my 10-year-old.

Depending of the commitment/seriousness of your artist, I'd recommend spending a little more and getting something that will not deter you from your craft due to the hassle required just to get ready to paint.

Some instructions would've gone a long way. I think I'm being generous with two stars.

I got these in order to rehang artwork and photos after I renovate old lath and plaster walls in a 1908 Victorian. They hang off the existing picture railing without issue and match the esthetic of the house well.

Using these in conjunction with fishing line keeps me from having to put holes in the walls I just fixed and result in the artwork staying put.

Haven't had any issue with these falling off the railing.

Only complaint I would have is the shipping was rather high but as for the actual hooks, they are superb.

I bought these and just hung up three pictures from my picture rail moulding that came with the house. The picture rail hangers are simple and elegant, and the color goes very well with my dark brown leather / espresso wood / black laquer color scheme. They seem to hold the pictures well.

My only complaint is that the curves don't seem to be curvy enough and slip off if I use them as they are. I just bent them a bit extra when I hung up the pictures, and they bend fairly easily.

If problems pop with them, I expect I'll update the review.

Im an artist. I need the best paint and heard great things about wicked. So I gave it a shot. Out performs standard airbrush colors by a long shot. The reducer is great. I use an airbrush with a .17 mm needle tip. The colors are truely blended for details. Note that I am talking about wicked "detail" not the standard wicked. I bet its also great. Give it a shot, highly recommended.

Bought several of these for detailing bisque/plaster Christmas Village houses and for various acrylic painting/hobby crafts. i'm a long-time/experienced crafter in my opinion, these 'cheap' detail brushes are just that. Cheap, unusable, flimsy arrived already frayed and bent. I threw them in the trash shortly after they arrived. One can find decent, super inexpensive paint brushes (for instance, Royal & Langnickel, Craftsmart, etc.) but these brushes are crap.

I just recently started using heat embossing powders for my cards, and figured a good way to go would be to purchase a couple of "sampler" of small amounts of different colors. This was one of the samplers I purchased.

VERY happy with this! You get two bottles of each color: one is "plain"; the other has some sparkle to it. I've been using these on my spring and summer cards. The hot pink, especially, is lovely, and works great with the yellow and green.

The quality is good, too. It's a nice fine-grained powder that adheres well to the Versamark ink I use (Tsukineko Full-Size VersaMark Pigment Inkpad, Clear). I've been using these small spoons to help place the powder when I use mulitple colors on the same stamped image Petite Mini Tasting Spoons 50 Per Pack.

A little powder goes a long way, so these will last quite a long time. Good product!
