While I like Fantastix, they're still not the perfect applicator tool. They tend to inch their way out of their wrappers as you work with them, which makes them floppy and hard to control. They're also not sharpenable; that's a drawback too. That said, they seem to move color around more smoothly than a paper stump.

These came highly recommended to me. I also bought the colored ink. I am planning to use it on a Mrs. Clause quilt to give my facial expressions and other features of the quilt a more real look. Cannot wait to start using them. They look like they will work perfectly!
