I had a favorite pair of pants which developed a hole in the back. I purchased this powder, and then found out that I also needed a Bo-Nash Fiberglass non-stick Ironing Sheet in order for it to (supposedly) work properly. I purchased the sheet, and then attempted to repair my pants. First of all, the container was very hard to open; I had to really push on the area indicated, and ended up hurting my finger slightly. Then at first, the white top wouldn't spin (as it's supposed to), in order to place the "sifter" opening of that disc above the opening of the canister. Then the powder came out way too quickly, and got everywhere.
At first, I tried to do the repair using a cut-out piece of the pants (from inside the waist): nothing happened. Then I cut that piece up very finely (so that it was like fluff, just as the directions stated). I then tried to mix the powder into the fluff: it didn't mix together very well at all. So then I added a few drops of water, which at least seemed to make the powder stick to the fluff. Then, following the directions, I placed the fiberglass ironing sheet on both sides of the area, and placed the iron on it for at least a full minute (I was trying not to take any chances that I hadn't left it there long enough). Again, nothing happened.
I am unable to return the powder, because it's been over a month since I ordered it. I had no idea it wouldn't work, and I just kept putting off trying to repair the pants until I finally had some free time. So now I'm out the money I spent on the powder, which I might as well just throw away. Bottom line: do yourself a favor, and DON'T waste your money on either of these products.Everything it said it could do it did and very well. I would buy it again and I have already recommended it to a friend for quilting.
