I have purchased five of these machines to use with 4th thru 8th grade beginning sewing students. This machine has shown to be sturdy and all around easy to use with kids. I have sewn many different fabrics and used many different stitches with great success. It is very easy to wind a bobbin and thread. Over the last two years, no complaints at all.

I purchased this sewing machine for my daughter. It has a lot of features for the price. The amount of stitching options at the push of a button are amazing. The low price actually scared me. I thought we might be disappointed with what we received. Basically I purchased on trust because of the good reviews I'd read on this machine. For a sewer who is a beginner or beyond, this machine is one I would not hesitate to purchase again for the next daughter. I am pleased!

As a first timer this sewing machine the right fit for me. This is very user friendly and not complicated to operate. Replacing a zipper for my jacket is piece of cake. And did some alterations to my blue jeans, no sweat. Highly recommended to evryone.

Last Christmas my mom bought all 3 of us this sewing machine. Me (15) and my sisters (both 27) Since my sisters both are Beginner sewers, (from both lack of skill and lack of time regarding there family) this machine has been PERFECT for them. It was easy to teach them to use it, and after I got there tensions adjusted correctly, neither of them have had a problem with their machine since. But here is the thing, Even though I am 15, I am a HEAVY DUTY seamstress. I take great care of my machine, cleaning lint, oiling, keeping it covered, etc. But the projects I use my machine for are VERY frequent, and VERY intense. So after a years time, my machine is beginning to give up the ghost in comparison to my sisters machines.

My Auto-threader works fine, my spindle is also fine, as well as my throat plate and bobbin case; unlike some other reviews you may have read.

This machine is fabulous for beginner sewers, very tolerable and understandable user interface; and very flexible to a variety of projects.

BUT If you are like me, a heavy seamstress, and your dream is to work at Vogue like I,

I suggest investing in a machine that will last you a bit longer, because sometime within the year (around 18 months of age of my machine) I will be investing a new one that can tolerate me better.

I bought this as a birthday present for my wife... she loves it! Only problem is, I can't pull her away from it. It's been three weeks now, the kitchen is a disaster, the kids are starving... the bathroom has been out of toilet paper for days... but we all have beautiful new scarves!
