I have purchased five of these machines to use with 4th thru 8th grade beginning sewing students. This machine has shown to be sturdy and all around easy to use with kids. I purchased this sewing machine for my daughter. It has a lot of features for the price. The amount of stitching options at the push of a button are amazing. The low price actually scared me. I thought we might be disappointed with what we received. Basically I purchased on trust because of the good reviews I'd read on this machine. Last Christmas my mom bought all 3 of us this sewing machine. Me (15) and my sisters (both 27) Since my sisters both are Beginner sewers, (from both lack of skill and lack of time regarding there family) this machine has been PERFECT for them. It was easy to teach them to use it, and after I got there tensions adjusted correctly, neither of them have had a problem with their machine since. But here is the thing, Even though I am 15, I am a HEAVY DUTY seamstress. I take great care of my machine, cleaning lint, oiling, keeping it covered, etc. But the projects I use my machine for are VERY frequent, and VERY intense. So after a years time, my machine is beginning to give up the ghost in comparison to my sisters machines.

My Auto-threader works fine, my spindle is also fine, as well as my throat plate and bobbin case; unlike some other reviews you may have read.

This machine is fabulous for beginner sewers, very tolerable and understandable user interface; and very flexible to a variety of projects.

BUT If you are like me, a heavy seamstress, and your dream is to work at Vogue like I,

I suggest investing in a machine that will last you a bit longer, because sometime within the year (around 18 months of age of my machine) I will be investing a new one that can tolerate me better.

I bought this as a birthday present for my wife... she loves it! Only problem is, I can't pull her away from it. It's been three weeks now, the kitchen is a disaster, the kids are starving... the bathroom has been out of toilet paper for days... but we all have beautiful new scarves!

This Manga Drawing kit provides all the basic tools needed to get started in a compact value package. The mechanical pencil and eraser are handy for laying down the initial outlines. The 0.6 mm and 1.0 mm nibs are particularly useful for drawing caricatures at a good speed. The 0.3 mm and 0.4 mm are perfect for adding small details. While the plastic nibs might wear down visibly under heavy usage, the larger nibs will continue to reliably produce clearly defined dark strokes. The 0.4 mm unfortunately is not as sturdy and can be damaged rather easily with a heavy hand pressure, so use a light touch for better mileage out of it. Overall a well rounded compact sketching kit.

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing these pens from a local store (sorry Amazon). As a beginner manga artist, I was amazed at the quality of the pens and the difference they made with my drawings. The ink dries rather quickly and pencil lines can be erased without fear of smudging.

I bought these at Michael's and I wish I bought them here... they were 16 dollars at Michael's.

My favorite out of this set was the .04 pen. It's the right size for sketching. It has a different tip though, which I found strange, but it feels great.

The .03 is great for coloring in small corners, though it's really thin and you have to be gentle with it.

The .06 is like a medium sized marker, good for coloring or making lines thicker.

The 1.00 sized is basically like a sharpie marker and good for making lines thicker and coloring big spaces. It's a really dark black too. IT DOES NOT BLEED EITHER! I am really impressed.

My only beef is that you have to be gentle, but that's just me because I'm abrasive lol. But also I was messing with them and they seemed to have run out a bit quick, or the pen tip got a little messed up and started to create a line within the marker. It started to make a streak. So I would have a huge thick line, and then a tiny other line because the marker tip (this happened with the 06 and 1.00 marker) had like, a little residue. It doesn't dry instantly, but it's not slow. Maybe blow on it and it dries instantly.

But other than that, these are nice solid black pens and markers.

I didn't really care much for the sketch pencil or the eraser. If anything, any type of artist should get a KNEADED eraser. Less mess, and is great for shading (if you use different types of pencils, but that's a different story).

I am an artist, and this set is probably by far my most favorite piece in my supply collection. I received this set as a present for Christmas, but even if I were to buy it for myself it would be very much worth spending any amount of money on it. This set includes a Sakura eraser, a mechanical soft-graphite drawing pencil, and four varied thicknesses of manga pens. The thicknesses vary from .3 mm, .4 mm, .6 mm, and 1.0 mm. To be honest, these pens are not exclusively for manga use only. They work for all my art purposes. If you draw something with a pencil, then outline with one of these pens and then use the eraser (after giving the pen a short minute to dry, it does not take long) there is NO SMUDGE. This set is ideal for any artist who uses such things on a daily basis. This set will not fail to please you. Would recommend to any artist.

I bought this for my wife for Christmas, along with a variety of other floss (DMC brand.) While the price is right on this value pack, it is definitely lacking in quality. She breaks the thread nearly every stitch with this floss, while having no problem with DMC. I will say that she hasn't had as many problems with another pack of Janylnn (color variations), but this particular one is not worth it. Spend the extra 5 bucks on DMC.

Agree heartily with all reviews. I have had mine for at least 15 years now, and use it every single day. It comes in a nice, hard case, and lasts for ever. It's not a fancy brand pen a la Montblanc, but it writes so well. Have given away quite a few over the years, since once anyone tries it, they covet one. Highly recommended to those who care about writing instruments and enjoy the act of writing.

I bought these thinking they would be good for coloring grayscale manga. But they really aren't good for that. Most of the grays come out blotchy, uneven, and grainy. One of the grays is in fact, more of a light bluish gray. The darker grays work pretty good, producing even tone, but the lighter grays are always uneven and produce grainy coloring. I recommend the cool gray marker set by Prismacolor over these.

I really like these and use as a sort of notan sketch as a precursor to a painting to determine major areas of light and shade, and maybe how many light and dark areas I may may need in the painting to balance it out.

Most of the time when you buy gold paint, it is a dark gold color. This set has that gold color too, but in addition, it has "splendid gold" Splendid gold is brighter, shinier and more yellow. I love the splendid gold!

This is a great product. The colors are great and perfect for my holiday projects. I only gave it 3 stars because it was packaged poorly. When I got it, the green bottle leaked out about 1/3 of paint. It was already dried and didn't get on any of the other things I ordered in the same box. So I'm assuming that it was shipped to me this way. It was unfortunate but I needed it for a project so I just kept it.
