Basically it isn't a bad product, but the company is very deceitful in their advertising. I thought that my choice would be a wise one because of the Logan name. The name Logan means nothing; it is the country that the product is made in like China. As usual beware of the claim by a company that says it is "New and Improved" because it really means that 'We have found a way to cheapen the product without making it total crap.' The bevel cutter works okay, but the straight cutter is not the same one pictured in the advertising or on the box. The "new and improved" version is made of plastic, except for the blade and the handle is nothing more than a short round piece of plastic and not the one on the package that looks substantial and has a finger grip configuration to the design. I would suggest to the prospective buyer to purchase the next higher Mat Cutter, but I am not sure if the quality will be there either.Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>
I bought this kit (made in USA!!!!)despite the reviews which denounced the tools bad quality. I suppose that people should get what they pay for, and considering the price of these tools, I think it is DEFINITIVELY a wonderful purchase to introduce kids or beginners to wood carving. The kit consists in a 3mm and a 8mm gouges (both #8), a 6mm V-Tool(#13), a 3mm chisel, and a carving knife, plus one piece of softwood called basswood, and a kind of stone to sharpen the tools: when you buy chisels, you have to sharpen them before using it for the first time. Basswood is tender and easy to work with, and these tools will make their work. However, do not force too much, be gentle or they will break fast!!! You can find patterns on woodcarving.com. Do not count on the instructions flyer, it is not very useful. Nevertheless, many information can be found easily on internet. You will need patience, just to learn how to handle your tools. However, after approximately 10 hours, you should be able to feel comfortable. I recommend wood carving courses or training, even if financially it is an investment. In France, you can do a training of two days for 300/400 euros, but with a pro, you learn a lot. The best thing would be to choose a real and good craftsman, like a "compagnon" in France. It means that these people did a "tour de France"; it has nothing to see with the bike contest except that to become the best in their own discipline, they were once apprentices who learnt their craft and developed their skills for many years working with the best craftmen. Thus for years, they moved from one craftman's place to another in order to acquire all the knowledge accumulated in their discipline for centuries. Usually, whatever their discipline is, the compagnons realize incredible things.

I bought these as my first try with acrylics. Depending on what you are using them for they are good; I recommend them for small projects. They dry fast, so I wouldn't recommend them for Gelli Plate prints; they dry too fast.

I was surprised at how much coverage there is in each jar. Each jar has a small shaker top to allow sprinkling which seems to work pretty well at dispersing the flock. The first couple uses of each jar I had a little trouble with clumping and uneven distribution which seemed to go away after I used a little bit of the jar and had some more room to shake it. The color representation is accurate to the online photos depending a little on your monitor color settings.

I love my go baby fabric square cutter I've had it for over a year, and a friend just bought one after having borrowed mine. HOWEVER, I forgot that ordering the go baby did not include the die or the cutting mat. She got her go baby, but cant use it because the die and mat were not included. I suggest strongly suggest that in the information provided on the ordering page you state that this order is only for the go baby, and not for any necessary dies or mats. I didn't mind buying them -just should have known that they were not included.

These are decently made. That line in the back on the picture is accurate. Dont sand it off as it wil expose the regular metal. They aren't very sharp so thats good if you're putting them on a dog collar. The screws also don't go flush into the bottom. average is 1/16 to 3/32 from being flush. I'd get them again though for another dog colar. Oh and solid metal.

I've been trying for two years to find a relaxing art or craft to get my fiancé into, and finally, I handed him one of the mini-scratch art kits one night when I couldn't stand his fidgeting anymore. I agree with his assessment that it would be a rare 8-year old who could do one of these without frustration, but if you don't have an artistic background or have difficulty with soft crafts (knitting, etc), these may be the perfect hobby to get you started on something artistic. I love watching my guy lose himself for an hour or more working on one of these instead of nervously drumming his fingers thinking about work and finals. And whether he realizes it or not, he's getting a sense for light, shadow, and perspective, so when I buy him blank scratchboard, he won't be unequipped to do his own scratch drawings.
