I loved that u got free stencils...but my machines pin broke. So I had to send it back. It wasn't the best machine and I should have spent the extra cash on one I knew how to work and was more expensive. Didn't hurt to try it out though. I gave two stars because of all the stencils you get with this product and did come in a nice carrying case and colors.

Boye hooks are my preference for crocheting because of the taper on the heads. They aren't an inline hook, which means the hook size is slightly bigger than the shaft size. The heads have a nice taper that slips easily into stitches.

The aluminum hooks are sized for worsted weight yarn, and the sizes are accurate and fit the sizing used by other companies. G is a standard for a lot of older crochet projects and patterns. I is the thickest, and works well for slightly more open work and for working with cotton yarns which don't compact the same way wools and acrylics do.

The steel hooks are not sized conventionally, so you may have to switch sizes if you're working a pattern that needs a consistent gauge. They are just a fraction of a mm off on the bigger side, such as a size 5 Boye hook is 1.9 mm, the same hook by Susan Bates is 1.7 mm.

If you prefer inline hooks, Susan Bates hook will be a better choice for you.

My only issue with Boye hooks is that the handles can be wearying for extended times crocheting because they are so slender. There are several methods that people use for making the shaft thick enough to be comfortable. I just use duct tape.

Make no mistake, these are undoubtedly excellent crochet hooks with very fine anodized surfaces. However, I'd intended them for a youngster wrestling with a potholder loom, and they're just too short for the application. No criticisms, just disappointment, as those I'd purchased for other kids years ago were just right.

I bought these for my wife. She decided to take up crochet as a hobby. She wanted to make scarves, blankets, etc. The three larger needles are good for this type of thing. She really won't use the smaller ones, but even based on the price of the three larger needles, it was still a good deal.

Don't know if others will get the same but i received the dried ink pad. I expected to get very nice color ink pad but it turned out to be a dried one. Very disappointed.

Nearly all my pigment inks are Colorbox however, the chalk versions aren't really my faves. Maybe I'm more a fan of deeper, richer color (as the chalk colors are muted & washed out versions).

I do like the chalk colors for inking the edges of paper (creating a worn, antique look).

Unfortunately, I had to return the cat's eye chalk pads to Amazon because they were dried out. These aren't recommended for storage in hot warehouses (plus the smaller ink pad area tends to dry out anyway).

I would by these again depending on how badly I need a color (along with the refill/re-inking bottles), but I likely won't buy these from Amazon. Instead, I may buy from a scrapbooking store.

My affair with sewing started back in my youth, but like most affairs, ran hot-and-cold. Mostly cold. I cut my sewing teeth on my mom's old Montgomery Ward from the early '70s, and stopped sewing as soon as I left her house. Fast forward to the adoption of the first machine I'd owned, a late 1940s National Brand machine I got on trade.

Using creaky, temperamental machines with that warm oil smell, ear piercing screech, and a dozen or so stitches accessed by rotary wheel is all I know. Or, at least, used to know. I purchased the Singer ONE 2-3 months ago, after much internal debate and reading hundreds of reviews on different models.

I had no idea sewing was supposed to be so easy, so fun, and so rewarding. This machine is ready-to-use, right out of the box. It is not the most advanced computerized machine, so it the bill to be my first. There are some nonessential "perks" it offers (storage, a variety of feet, flexibility with accommodating various spool sizes, idiot-proof bobbin winding) that pleasantly surprised me.

I am not a master seamstress. I'm struggling to type this review because I don't know enough "sewing vocab" to avoid looking foolish. But this machine makes my work look like I'm far better than I am, and most importantly, it is so user-friendly for beginners than I FEEL good about sewing. Which leads me to use it more. Which makes me better. It's a beautifully vicious cycle.

There are some obvious things that should be noted, that will help you avoid many common problems--and many of these apply to ANY computerized machine:

1. It is a computer, first and foremost. It's not going to run like Mom's old Montgomery Ward, because that was a machine. This is a computer with machine parts attached. It's a different beast. Comparing the two types is like comparing your granddad's work truck to your neighbor's Prius.

2. It's not "flimsy" or "cheap," but it's not going to send vibrations through your table or give you hernia when you move it. It is mostly plastic, with a metal internal frame for stability. It is light, it is stable, and feels nothing like it's elders (or most expensive models). These points ended up in my favor, as those older, heftier, or more expensive types were too intimidating for someone wanting to love sewing, not develop career skills.

3. It is a computer. Computers are sensitive to being dropped, getting wet, being exposed to (or building up) heat, and to power surges. Logic must prevail; I want to ask if the people who experienced power failure with this machine had it plugged in to a surge protector. If not, that's a more likely culprit than it not being a quality machine.

4. I have made a few mistakes resulting in mystery error codes on the LED screen--the manual is only marginally helpful. The Internet, however, is a gold mine. Each and every error has been my part (not lowering the foot, trying to sew something that is too thick, not properly doing something... On my "old" machine, I wouldn't have gotten a mysterious screeching beep and flashing red light, and could have kept sewing until I realized my error. This one "locks up" as people say because the computer is designed to not let you tear the machine (or your project) up. If you don't like being corrected when you're wrong, this isn't the machine for you.

5. I did not test drive a bunch of machines before purchasing. I did look at a few hundred pictures and agonized over reviews from professionals and amatures/hobbyists. And among the people "like me," this was the best machine for me. The decorative stitches are beautiful and plentiful, but not abundantly overwhelming. It is easy for me to adjust the length of stitches. The computer tells me when the stitch I have selected needs a different foot.

The bottom line is with this computerized model, I CAN SEW what I want to sew, and learn. I did not have to learn everything first in order to use it. As for its durability, it has helped me make well over 30 thick, plump, thirsty cloth diapers and a handful of crib sheets. It also allowed me to recover a glider chair with some beautiful heavy upholstery fabric I was previously afraid to cut for fear of "screwing it up." Any machine that can give me confidence and perform consistently and reliably is a 5 star item for me.

I originally bought the Singer Curvy and had all sorts of issues with it... I returned it and purchased the Singer ONE and it is working out nicely for me. Is it a deluxe machine? No. It's a nice beginner machine for $250 and it works nicely. The stitches usually come out nicely. I say usually because at times the stitches do seem to stack themselves as the track doesn't always move the fabric through. When you go over sewn seams just go slower or this is the area that the stitches can occasionally double up.

You DO NEED to ALLOW about 5 inches of thread tail before you start stitching. If you only have like 3 inches loose to start a stitch the needle pulls it completely through and you have to put the tread through the needle again. That is a pain and I just have to remember to leave that nice long tail.

I've not had a single needle break or come loose like I did with the Singer Curvy. I DO recommend that you purchase the inspira needles vs the Singer brand needles that are sold at Joannes. The Singer needles broke often and the inspira that are sold FOR Singer machines work great. They are about double the price but they are worth it! I've used the same needle for almost 5 weeks and I've worked on quilts, purses and dog clothing.

It is easy enough to move from my sewing room to my dining room without having it too big and heavy to hassle with. That is important to me. Over all I'd give it 4 stars. I do wish it had more stitches and was quieter and could get through thicker fabric easier. But what do I expect for $250. The stitches that it does have are fun and will work nicely for me until I'm ready to spend $1000 on a fancier machine.

The removable extended arm is USEFUL! Wow -it's so nice to have the extra space for quilting and then be able to remove it to fix my children's clothing or work on a delicate seam.

Ultimately it's a good machine that I'm having a lot of fun with. I would recommend this machine if you aren't working on super thick quilts. My quilts are usually 1/2 inch thick and so far that works out okay for this machine.

I've had this machine for 3 months. I've used it almost daily, when it's working. I've had it in for service twice already, the bobbin case and mechanism has several issues. I've also had a VERY hard time replacing the bobbin case, apparently it's different then all other Singer Machines. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have purchased this machine. I don't have time to have it in for service once a month.

I had read a number of reviews about this particular machine and knew it would be the one to replace my almost 50 year old machine. Directions/ diagrams made getting started quite easy. The extent of computer assisted stitches is perfect. It is amazingly light weight and replaces what I call my hernia machine. The extra storage and accompanying extras are appropriate. I would only suggest to purchasers that they make sure to purchase enough of the precise recommended Singer bobbins for anticipated projects...only three bobbins came with the machine.

I bought these as my first try with acrylics. Depending on what you are using them for they are good; I recommend them for small projects. They dry fast, so I wouldn't recommend them for Gelli Plate prints; they dry too fast.

I'm very excited to try these markers out. I wanted to show a picture of how I used the product, but there was no place to upload my picture. I simply wrote a quote on my bathroom mirror to inspire me today. Nevertheless, I wanted to used these chalk decorative markers to write daily inspirations on my mirror in the bathroom and in my bedroom. I deducted one star because I would prefer more detailed instructions then what is printed on the marker itself. Mainly because it took a few times to get the ink out to dispense, but once I figured it out, it was good to go. You must hold down the marker to dispense the ink so that it has time to flow out to reach the tip of the marker. Likewise, although it stated that the ink was removable with water or an ammonia based product on Amazon, it would be nice to have that information printed inside or outside the packaging.

About the Seller:

I ordered my markers on 6/12/13 and they just arrived early this morning 6/14/13...on time and neatly packaged. The seller also had sent properer verification as to when the product would be delivered and when it shipped.

Recommendations:

Buy it, what are you waiting for? Since it's that time of year again, I always wanted to know how teenagers wrote on their car windows when they graduated with bright neon colors...now I have my own markers to have fun with this summer!

I got these for my wife and used them to make a colorful birthday sign. The colors popped out and it was fun to make a cool sign. She took the markers to school and this is the feedback she has on them:

I am a teacher and have been exposed to the same, old markers, crayons, and colored pencils for years. My husband got me a package of Chalk-It Up markers and the students loved them. I surveyed my students as to why they liked them and these were their responses: 1) There are 8 colors, similar to highlighter colors, so we enjoyed the bold splash of florescent on the posterboard. 2) Even though we shouldn't, we use the liquid White-out pens to decorate our lockers and assignment notebooks. It is is similar to the White-out pens, but way more cooler. We get a kick out of shaking the pen to mix the liquid chalk. 3) We could definitely use these on our parents car windows to make announcements like graduation, birthdays, etc. 4) We like that it has a square tip, so you can easily switch from making a thin line to a thick line.

I know that title isn't exactly a ringing endorsement but I wasn't expecting a diamond studded silk ball gown. I expected a package of card stock templates for basic shapes. That's what I got. It's not extensive and the shapes (in spite of the shear number of individual templates) are really basic and limited. Some don't really make sense and seem thrown in for grins. There's a bottle, a bow and a keyhole for instance and that makes no sense to me. Other than that, most of them are basic geometric or variants on those (with scalloped edges, for instance). I'm not disappointed and it wasn't expensive.

I have bought very expensive set of pencils that I do not like the way they 'feel' when I draw across paper, but these are smooth and comfortable I will be getting another set when I need them and I do not have to spend 20.00 or more on pencils or others I do not like.

For those who do not know about drawing pencils. There are different numbers and letters at the bottom of the pencils. I use the 2H for light sketching and to draw from the object to the vanishing point because the pencil is light on the paper and it erases easy. Then When I want to darken the lines I use the 2B which is the lightest of the B's for shading I use all the B's which are dark and for the darkest shadows I use 6B which gives the darkest shadow and good for stippling, (dots close together for dark shadowing and further apart for lighter shadowing).

I hope this makes sense for you. I am awful at explaining things.

This set is perfect for begginners. I purchased mine and received it very quickly in order to complete a portfolio before my deadline. The set contained everything I needed for my drawings in graphite and charcoal.

These are a GREAT set of pencils they all come in different types of sizes, some harder, softer, darker, smother, its awesome! Its the best set and when I shop for pencils these are the ONLY ones I order. However, the only problem with this is the sharpener. The sharpener works well in the beginning but after many times of using it, part of the sharpener cracks and it doesn't sharpen well and ruins all the pencils. This happened to me TWICE now after buying two sets of this. So buy yourself a solid metal/steel sharpener that isn't plastic. It would last you and it won't eat up your pencils.
