My daughter begged me for an art set when she made honor roll this year and I said yes. It took time to pick a set because they were either too expensive or too cheap. Local places wanted $50+ for fair quality stuff, but it is more than I want to pay for my daughters first art set at age 10. Once I crossed the over $50 stuff off my list, I was left with dollar store crap and that was insulting. I wanted to find a product that would make my other kids just a little jealous and a little motivated at the same time when they saw it so that she would appreciate and remember it more. JACKPOT!

My daughter gasped and cried when she saw it and that was so great! The other kids oohhhhhed and aaaahhhhed with excitement. I am not overly impressed with the set as a grownup, but it satisfies my needs perfectly. The quality of the supplies is a step above just buying some crayola stuff in a box which is exactly where I wanted to be. With the money I saved I was able to pay for a few starter drawing books to help her develop her skills. I don't expect her to be an artist, I just want her to know that we love and support her; this kit helps to fulfill that goal. :)

"Wow" my daughter exclaimed when she opened this box! Very impressive & a great value with 82 pieces of almost every color of pencils, oil pastels, and water colors! She loves experimenting with all these great art supplies to make her pictures and paintings. She's enjoying it so much, we're planning to buy these art sets for her cousins as holiday gifts!

Recvd very quickly, it seems ok. Was expecting more bang based on reviews so i was a little disappointed. Recommend if you see one u like in person to buy it in the store.

I had gotten one of these art sets for myself and some other sets for my nieces and nephews, which they loved. Now my granddaughter is showing more interest in drawing, coloring and art projects so I decided to indulge and give her one of these sets as well.

The set is great as it allows a lot of different mediums to be explored. I'd never drawn anything that was recognizable until I started trying to draw after i retired. I was shocked to find that I could recognize animals I was drawing. After a few "successes" I bought some drawing paper and this set because I wanted to explore...I drew a puppy using leads, then I drew another and used colored pencils to color it...now I'm trying the paints. Doing projects with the kids is fun as we explore together, laughing at our failures, gloating at our successes and watching each other make faces as we try to "master" different ways of doing things or even getting what we're trying to draw to be recognizable.

The set isn't GREAT at any one medium. It's for exploration. When you find something you like, then you begin purchasing add-ins to that particular medium. For instance, I found I love to draw in pencils and began to 'shade' in leads as well, through using this set. Once I decided to explore a little deeper using leads and graphites, I purchased additional pencil weights and shading pencils to use. The same goes for the colored pencils.

It's a GREAT exploration and learning starter kit and an absolutely PERFECT gift kit for young children!

This I bought for my daughter in law it was a lot smaller than I expected but still it was good for the price.
