These were a gift, what really sold me was the large size of the tubes. My retired mother is constantly running out of paint, especially white and it's nice to be able to resupply her hobby. Her first words we're where did you find these big sized tubes, I hope you didn't spend too much. Love that amazon hides the price on gifts. Once she started using the paint she loved the"flow" and the opacity.

I purchased the Cricut Deep Cut Blade assembly for my Cricut Expressions machine because I knew I would be cutting thicker materials like chip board and thin foam. The standard blade is really not appropriate for anything thicker than typical construction paper. But, the "Deep Cut" blade won't cut through my chip board even on the deepest setting.

Cricut needs to be more specific regarding the thickness of materials it can handle and of the depths associated with different blade settings. There is way too much trial and error involved with adjusting depth settings.

I purchased this blade with hopes of cutting chipboard. It didn't now work at all. It only penetrated about half of the chipboard material. I gave it two stars because it did come in handy as a better blade for cutting glitter paper.

I've been cutting materials about 1/8th of an inch thick with this blade. I find I have to use to multicut function to make sure there aren't any little spots that didn't get cut completely though. I also have found that the thicker materials need a little extra sticky to stay in place on the mat (makes sense, since you're cutting through more material at a time there will be more resistance). I just use some double sided sticky tape, and it works just fine.

On a side note, it fits in the Cricut Cake machine, so if you just get the sticky mats you can use it to cut out papers/leather/foam board, whatever, instead of just cutting food items. I know Provo Craft says not to use the Cricut Cake for non food items, but they are full of crap. If you use a separate mat and blade, then NONE of your machine will come in contact with both your food items and your paper items. Besides, even if you used the same mats/blade, if you are making things out of paper that is SO toxic that a microscopic sliver or the residue of the dye could make you sick then maybe you should reconsider operating the machine in your house! I'm pretty sure anything that toxic would have to carry a warning label anyway... So as long as you aren't flavoring your coffee with scrapbooking glue, I sure you'll be fine. Provo Craft just stands to make MUCH more cash if you buy both a machine for both food items and paper products, so of course they'll say you shouldn't use it for both.

Here is a link I found helpful. Yes, it does take a lot of practice and such to get good results using different items, however once you find something that works you should keep a journal, it helps so you don't make the same mistakes. This does cut things that the original blade can't cut, and it is very important that you start with a good tacky cutting mat. . Keep trying it is well worth it.

The deep cut seems stressful on the machine while the chipboard will not stay in place and makes a mess of the chipboard. Cricut should do something to compensate for the deep cut promises. Ive spent enough money!

But truly great blades, neatly packed, cuts through paper like hot knife through butter, the spare blades come in safety plastic boxes (with some sort of lubricant in it, don't know why).

All in all, a great purchase, lately arrived though..

I just recently started sewing again, and thought this would be a nice little item to have, it has all the things you would need for sewing. There are plenty of threads, in lots of different colors. It does have several storage areas, and all the basics. Some of the items are small, but for the beginner they are very good. I ended up taking out what I would use, and putting the box up on the cupboard. It would be very handy if you were going to attend a class for sewing, you could have everything in one spot. There is even a pocket to hold the patterns. So after looking at it, for me, its not exactly what I was looking for, but for some one just starting out, it would be perfect. It would be a great gift for the beginner seamstress.

Save your money, and do not buy this! My wife started up sewing, so I bought this for her thinking it had everything she needed to get started (less a sewing machine of course). I thought this was a perfect gift. Well I was wrong. She's making me return it. Where do I begin? The threads are of poor quality. It's weak & cheap. The needles and the pins are as if they are made of aluminum because they bend easy. The pin cushion is a joke. It's smaller than a golf ball. Useless! Thimbles are crushable. Scissors are feel like they won't last very long. The kit itself is cheaply made. First of all, the spools of thread keeps falling out of the holders every time it's opened or your about to close it. The kit is made of flimsy, cheap plastic. I doubt it would last a year of usage. The button to open the kit is impossible to open. My wife struggled and fought with it every time she needed to open it up. This is really a piece of junk! My wife is planning to buy a caboodle makeup holder or a fishing tackle box with the refund money.

Low quality thread, low quality tools, low quality case. On three days of light use one of the arms broke off. After a few weeks one of the large sides broke off.

The spools are always falling out no matter how well I stick them on. This didn't end up being worth the money. Maybe for a young starting newbie. I was getting back into sewing and had managed to misplace a lot of my tools in a move. Wanted to kick-start my new set and ended up buying all new tools on top of this.

My wife has this storage system and we hate it. The button/latch mechanism that holds the box shut is positioned poorly. 90% of the time when you pick it by the handle the button/latch to open the box fails and dumps your stuff on the ground below. If we got this out more than once a year it would be in the trash by now but the usage vs cost of a new one doesn't seem worth it. Avoid this product, unless you enjoy re-sorting your supplies on a regular basis.

I'm a college student, so I wanted to get something cheap, small, and does the job.

This little guy does it.

At first, it was really temperamental. The thread would snap, or the stitches were too loose. But I played around with the tension and was able to get a decent stitch. You just have to adjust the tension depending on what type of material you are using. It's a very basic set up, with two speeds and no reverse. Good for small projects, hemming, repairing. But by no means can it replace a large machine. The needle's not very sturdy, so I wouldn't use it for thick fabrics like denim. And the stitch isn't very tight/secure. And the biggest downside is how loud the little machine gets!

It comes with the DC Adapter and a foot pedal, which most mini sewing machines don't.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase. Basically, you get what you paid for.

We received this little sewing machine yesterday, and I'm delighted with it! I was able to quickly mend a damaged quilt and it sewed through all of the layers without trouble.

The design is just like a large machine, with the same thread path, and with care, it sews a simple straight stitch just fine! If the thread breaks, check the tension, and make sure the presser foot is down when you are sewing, just like on a large machine. It has features that I didn't expect, such as the ability to take full size spools of thread, as well as bobbins, and it even has a bobbin winder! It runs on either 4 AA batteries or an included DC adapter. Since it's made of plastic, and not as sturdy as my full sized machine, I plan to treat it with extra care so it will last.

Excellent for quick mending.

This machine isn't meant for "real adult heavy sewing". It's perfect for small jobs on fabric that isn't too heavy. I got it for my 7 year old daughter and she used it this morning for the first time. In less than 2 hours, she'd cut out and sewn a darling little tote bag. I drew chalk lines for where to cut on the fabric for her, and sewed the handles to the top after she'd sewn the handle seams. And, to attach the handles, it meant sewing through 7 layers of fabric and it did that without a whimper!

I even changed the thread with no problem before we started, using a regular size spool, so the thread would match the fabric.

I bought this machine as I have been teaching my Grand daughters to sew and wanted something that wasn't as intimidating as my machine. The first on to use it was the three year old (of course I helped). She made her first pillow and it was a wonderful experience. The slow fast button makes it easier for the little ones so whether it be the three year old or the 7 and 8 year old. All can create and have a great experience white doing so.

I've tried a variety of double-pointed needles, most of which I didn't really like that much. These are among my all-time favorites. They are easy to hold onto and manipulate, and they have the perfect point--sharp enough to easily pick up stitches with but not so sharp that you feel you're stabbing yourself when you have to push on the tip with a finger. They are laminated, so the surface is smooth, and the yarn glides across them, which is a benefit unless you're using a slick, silky yarn like rayon or silk in which case you might need a needle made of something with a bit more grab.

One of the reasons I wanted to try square needles is that they're said to give you much more uniform stitches. I found that to be true. They are also easy to use without tightly grasping the needles--also true. This means that you can relax a little more when you're knitting. I've read various reviews on square needles arguing that you need to go up a size or down a size to get the right gauge with them. I haven't done a scientific test yet, but my first impression is that my gauge is about right. I think your gauge will depend on whether you relax and hold the needles loosely, which you can with these needles, or knit the usual way.

As if all of this were not enough, these are really beautiful needles. The wood is gorgeous and enjoyable to look at, and the needles feel light without being too lightweight and flimsy. I love the feel of the wood, too. For me, these needles are just about perfect. The only complaint I have is that the markings indicating needle size are so faint that they will soon be gone, and then I'm not sure how I'll size them if they get separated from their packaging. As far as I know, no one has yet come up with a needle sizer for square needles. I would suggest either taking great care to make sure they get back into their packaging each time or finding a more durable way to mark the sizes on them. Other than that, I love these needles and will be buying lots more.
