I love to color "grown up" coloring books when I have the time, I have bout 20 different types of markers to chose from but these are the "go to" marker for anything I'd like textured as a paint brush would. I have a condition called essential tremor, that causes my hands to shake so real paint brushes are out of the question. With these I don't feel as though I'm missing out.Best Deals for Pitt Artists Pen Set 6 Landscape Colors
These pens are great. I use them in my art journaling almost every day. They dry fast and you can layer the colors as they are permanent India ink. Highly recommend.Saturday, November 22, 2014
Buy Janome 350e Memory Craft Embroidery Machine
I've been using the 350E for several weeks now, and I LOVE it. It is my first experience with an embroidery machine, and was so easy to learn how to use. I have had a Janome Memory Craft sewing machine for many years now, and have always been pleased with it. So, I wasn't looking to buy a sewing/embroidery machine combination. After looking at many of the other models on the market, and deciding that I wanted an "embroidery only" machine, the Janome 350E won hands down. The quality of the stitching is great. And, it has features that are only offered on some of the more expensive models made by other companies. As mentioned before, it is very easy to use right out of the box. I purchased it from a local dealer, and was given a lesson right there in the shop. I was operating the machine on my own within about 10 minutes.
There are a few quirks that seem to be peculiar to the 350E. One issue is that, while the display screen is very easy to see and user friendly, the setting for it's clarity changes on it's own while I'm embroidering. I have to reset it's brightness/contrast several times in a sitting. The model in the showroom did the same thing and I was told that it's just the way it is. This certainly wasn't a deal breaker for me, but a little irritating that Janome has not been able to get this right.
The other quirk that I found is that the "low bobbin" warning doesn't always work. Again, I have read that this is another issue with the model, in general. Sometimes I get no warning until the bobbin totally runs out. Sometimes I get a brief message on the screen....if I happen to catch it while it is displayed. And, sometimes I get the audible beep along with the message. I'm going to speak with my dealer about this. But, again, I have read that this is a common issue.
Other than those two things, I am completely thrilled with this machine. And, these two issues are the only reason I gave the Janome 350E 4 stars. In every other aspect, I would give it a 10 star rating.
I've now used this machine for about six weeks, and find that I needed to downgrade my 4 star rating to a three star rating. My LED screen has failed. Luckily it is under warranty, and my dealer has ordered a replacement part. But, after being a Janome user for almost 17 years, I am really disappointed to have this issue in just these few weeks of ownership.
NEW DOWNGRADE TO MY REVIEW. It is now October, and I've had my 350E for 8 months. I got a new screen installed in my machine a few months ago. While it is better, it still fades in and out until the machine warms up. I'm not pleased at all with this, but it seems to be the way it is. AND, today, in the middle of sewing some Halloween designs, my machine totally locked up and is in error message mode. I understand it is probably a sensor problem, so back to the shop it goes. I am going to see if they will either give me a new replacement for this machine, or give me my money back. Two major problems in 8 months is totally unacceptable, especially since I hardly used the machine over the summer months. As I stated earlier, I am so disappointed in Janome.
The bobbin winder is impossibly (scary!) fast. The auto needle threader works without a hitch ~ perfect every time (unlike the 200e never did work in the two weeks I had it!). OHH .. this machine has a "low bobbin thread" warning !! Love that! And there is the ability to skip around the design and stitch just what you have the thread for! Love that too ! If the thread breaks or runs out, there is the thread counter and arrows so you can go back to the exact spot the thread stopped ... and it works too ... I ran out of the bobbin thread, heard the warning beep and let it go to see what would happen then used those "back up arrows" and got right back in position. LOVE THIS MACHINE !! I know there are fancier machines out there, but this one is just right. OHH, and the AUTO THREAD CUTTER when 'that color' is finished is WUNNERFUL !!! :D Making and saving your own designs is easy too.
Can you tell I'm happy?

UPDATE as of 2 APRIL 2012 ... well, not so happy right this minute :( .. machine has been in the shop for 2 weeks as of last Saturday. My BOBBIN WINDER has been on the fritz. Took it back to the shop where I bought it and their "mechanic" has been out on some sort of personal leave (surgery I think) and he's doing the best he can to work while recovering (poor guy, but you know how times are!). Evidently they had to send my machine off someplace. I called to check on it Saturday and it's still going to be up to 2 more weeks :(((.
Also having TENSION ISSUES, but I think that is going to end up being a result of the thread I bought here on Amazon Polyester Embroidery Thread Set 40 Spools (500 meter spools/40 wt.) Set D Brilliant Colors ... maybe, maybe not.. not sure yet, but several things I've worked on have not come out very well, and I was using that thread. It's too loose on the spool once the machine starts working, either standing up or laying on the Janome 350e's horizontal spindle. I've got brand name thread, just don't want to use it :) but I'm going to have to I guess ... I've got an nice machine to make nice gifts, gonna have to do the right thing and use the right stuff. It doesn't pay to cut corners ... It COSTS. Please learn from my experience. I think the thread may be okay for some applications, but I'm not going to spend/waste a whole lot of time adjusting tensions and fiddling with stabilizers to figure out what goes with what ... I've got good thread, good stabilizer and an average tension I know works, so I'm done with it. I've got it if I need it, but other than that, never mind it for good embroidery.

UPDATE = May 24, 2012 ... I should have done this a couple of weeks ago. Got my baby back (LOL!) and to make a long story short, I sort of ended up fixing it, another LOL, HMPH! The bobbin winder still wasn't working right when I got it home (NOTE TO SELF, and OTHERS ... ALWAYS check the work that's been done (if possible). Dummy me, I didn't check the bobbin winder before I left the store ;( .. just happened to have an Embroidery Class that day too (had plenty of time) Anyway. I got home and set out to fill some bobbins ~ wasn't working right, fortunately I was the only thing steam was coming out of! So I kept pressing the machine to go on and fill the dang bobbin 'cause it knew it wanted to ..... and so it finally did! But now I think it doesn't stop like it is supposed to 8-}, you know, like when it gets full .... I may be wrong about that, it's just that I watch it so closely that I stop it when it Looks like it should stop .. I'm a little afraid to let it keep going. But I think it's going to be okay now. I love my Janome 350e ... I've done so much with it since I've gotten it back .. Free Standing Lace, monograms on handtowels, I'm making something for my hubby for Father's Day ... Very Happy! (again :-)
So far, I have had no problems at all with the machine, and it is so easy to operate. The screen menu items are easy to decipher and the ones I have used so far, make sense, that is, the icon images on the touch screen are not ambiguous, but represent just what you would guess that they represent.
A lady at the shop got me started with the basic steps to go through to get the stabilizer and the fabric into the hoop correctly and get the hoop hooked up to the machine at the back. She also recommended the best kind of stabilizer for the jobs I am doing. It is the "dissolves-in-water" kind, and is very slick. Works well.
My first altar linens have come out very well with various beautiful cross designs in gold. I have been pleasantly surprised at how easy the machine is to set up. It also tells you on the screen if you have done something wrong, and it won't run typically if there is something wrong, so that you can correct the problem before it damages your project.
I sure have my fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong with the machine as others have described. So far, I couldn't be happier! I have wanted to embroider altar linens for a very long time. So satisfying to be able to do it at last! I love Janomes, really, but also, an honest, helpful dealership makes so much difference!
I would like to add to this review that the biggest hoop this machine takes is the 5" by 7" hoop, so it won't do big projects.
Also something that I learned after I got started using the machine: if downloading embroidery patterns from the web and putting them onto a memory stick to use in the machine, don't get a huge-capacity stick, and keep only a max of fewer than 20 designs on one stick. The embroidery machine can't read a stick with lots of designs or lots of memory on it, even if the stick itself has plenty of room for more designs. You end up "losing" some of the designs on the stick because the machine can't find all of them. This is one of the things that the instruction booklet won't tell you. Ask your dealership how big a memory stick to use and how many designs to keep on it.
But since this is an older machine now and not really TOTL anymore, what can I expect? It makes beautiful, beautiful stitches and I have had so much fun since buying it almost a year ago. it came with a 4x4 (140x140 mm) hoop and a 5.5x7.9(140x200 mm) hoop.
The only thing I really regret is not discovering machine embroidery years ago. If you have a chance to get a Janome 350E for a great price and are looking for an embroidery machine, jump at it.
This has given me a taste for wanting a machine with a larger than a 200x140 mm hoop (not counting the Giga Hoop since you can't actually do a large design without rehooping)--so saving up for something larger to have in addition. I keep wishing Janome would put out another embroidery only machine with large hoop capabilities!

I've had this machine (purchased from my local quilt shop) for about a full month now and am LOVING it! I started out with the 200e which was okay, but for the money (I paid) I needed more machine. This 350e will last me forever (esp once I get that 'Digitizer Jr!). A tiny bit disappointed in the designs (only SOME) that are loaded on the machine, but WAY over HALF of them are very useable for pillowcases, blouses, etc .. even just frame-able art, if you are so inclined. Now, I am still very new to machine embroidery, so some more experienced users may disagree about the designs and their uses. There are several butterflies, lots of flowers (daisies and roses) in individual arrangements and in baskets, several pieces of fruit, some household items (don't want to give away everything!), and some really pretty borders. The bobbin winder is impossibly (scary!) fast. The auto needle threader works without a hitch ~ perfect every time (unlike the 200e never did work in the two weeks I had it!). OHH .. this machine has a "low bobbin thread" warning !! Love that! Best Deals for Janome 350e Memory Craft Embroidery Machine
I purchased this machine from a very helpful dealership that I already had experience with. I want it mainly for embroidering altar linens so I have been purchasing various Christian crosses and other related Christian embroidery designs off of the internet. I have two other Janome machines from the same shop, and the attachments and operating buttons, bobbins, threading, etc. are the same for all three, which is so helpful. So far, I have had no problems at all with the machine, and it is so easy to operate. The screen menu items are easy to decipher and the ones I have used so far, make sense, that is, the icon images on the touch screen are not ambiguous, but represent just what you would guess that they represent.

Honest reviews on Janome 350e Memory Craft Embroidery Machine
I bought my Janome 350E used in March 2012. I have had no problems with this machine at all except operator error. For example, I have tried to use a flash drive that has too many designs on it and it kind of fritz-es out. Then I read, I need a 1 or 2 gb flash drive. I am currently using a 4 gb but only putting one large design on it at a time. But since this is an older machine now and not really TOTL anymore, what can I expect? I LOVE this machine! It is so easy to use straight out of the box! I previously had a Singer CE-150 and the Janome is a MUCH better machine. There are tons of designs built in and it is very easy to add new designs using a USB memory stick. I highly recommend this Janome machine!Thursday, November 20, 2014
Plaid Mod Podge 1450 11-Ounce Acrylic Sealer, Super Gloss Review
I used this as a super glossy overcoat to a bisque Ceramic boot I recently completed painting using acrylic paints. I used two coats. It dried fairly quickly. Definately use in a ventilated area and don't over use. Spray side-to-side without overlapping. Excellent results. Very reflective surface.
reunion! Turned out great!

After using my single action airbrush, this took some getting used to. Adjusting the air and the paint at the same time has advantages over the single action. Also, having the paint container on the top allows for faster filling than on the bottom. I am just starting to learn how to do detail work but this airbrush will certainly do it. I tried my friend's $159 Badger airbrush and, while it is nice, does not do anything more than this one that I can tell.
I'd say the learning curve is pretty easy for double action airbrushing; especially if you have any experience using canned spray paint. Starting with a dual action airbrush, particularly this one with its ability to use a wide range of paint types, will save you time and money.
I primarily use this with enamel paints and it has worked very well so far. Cleaning is simple enough and it comes with an assembly guide so disassembly is not to much of a concern.
It's not mentioned in the product description but there is a depth-stop-like screw on the rear of this brush that makes returning to the same paint flow volume very easy. It makes for a very nice surprise additional feature.
Good all around air brush, can't see anyone going wrong choosing this.
The bottom line is, if this is as far as your budget stretches or just to see if you like airbrushing then you can make this airbrush work just fine, assuming you don't get a defective one like one of mine (I think QC is a issue with master). However they are made to a price and are nowhere near the build/spray quality of Iwata, Devilbiss etc if you can stretch your budget I would avoid this and go to a Iwata eclipse as you will avoid a lot of frustration and get finer lines to boot even with the HP-BCS .5mm. Also it will last you a lifetime, @ 1.5 years both my masters are long dead and my first Iwata is working like the day it arrived.
You can not change the product without giving it a new item code as readers will be mislead into thinking the reviews are for the same product when they are not.

I don't airbrush, but my husband does and this kit was for my son. My 14 year old son was able to get everything connected and start air brushing within 5 minutes. I also bought the quick connect and 6' hose that was recommended. My husband has a 25 year old air brush kit and he says it cost him almost a $100 for a similar one that I paid 1/2 the amount for. He was impressed with the quality and ease of use and cleaning. So far my son has used it to airbrush model cars and T-shirts (different paints of course). He has been able to keep it clean and has had no problems with anything in this kit. I highly recommend it for beginners.Best Deals for Master Airbrush® Brand, Model G23 Multi-purpose Precision .3mm

I got two of these as my first airbrush. One did not work from the start with a poorly drilled air cap so it did not create the low pressure to suck the paint out. The other worked ok for a time, or so I thought, I rapidly outgrew it and decided to get a Iwata HP Plus and from the very first use I realized how different a class it was. Things that I did not notice such as irregular size droplets of paint compared to the uniformed and smooth spray pattern of a Iwata, huge difference in build quality etc my work looked instantly better! The bottom line is, if this is as far as your budget stretches or just to see if you like airbrushing then you can make this airbrush work just fine, assuming you don't get a defective one like one of mine (I think QC is a issue with master). I have been watching this airbrush for months. It was a Master G23 model, a very well built model for its price. Now the photos have been changed to some generic model and the price, in a most bizarre fashion, has quadrupled. I notified Amzn and they said they'd correct the problem, but it is not corrected. List Price: $21.99

I was very pleased with my purchase of this kit, it was exactly as advertised. I would say it's good for anyone who at least knows the basics of cross stitching. There was nothing terribly complicated, each ornament took me about a week to complete. The kit gives you more than enough thread to complete your project, and has it's own thread organizer, which i thought was a nice touch. The instructions were very clear, it was not hard to attach the chains and finishing touches. The only thing i thought would be a good thing to include, which it didn't come with, would be some felt or material to sew to the backs of the ornaments, so that the back of the work doesn't show. Unless you're really good, the back probably doesn't want to be seen. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, it made great Christmas gifts. These are so much more elegant in person. The kits are fun and festive for the holidays. Hang them all together or give them on gifts as a little bonus.

I'm no professional artist by any stretch of the imagination, but I like to do crafts and sometimes use canvases. I loved these. They were wrapped well so no damage upon arrival and worked great for my painting quotes on canvases project! I would order these again and again great product for the price!

Royal and Langnickel Copper Engraving Art, Hummingbird Reviews
These are fun and entertaining art projects for the kids. If done correctly they are frame able pieces of art.

Best NEW THREADSRUS 3-Hoop Machine Embroidery Set for Brother SE270D Deals
I was disappointed that these hoops did not fit my Brother SE400. It seems as if they were not machined well and off by just a millimeter or two, just enough that it would not fit into the embroidery hoop holder on the sewing machine.
Not only did all of them not fit correctly (the Brother ones fit perfectly), but you can't embroider anything larger than 4"x4" on this machine, so the seller is being a bit deceiving by telling you that the large hoop fits this machine. The large hoop has four connectors, whereas the small and medium hoops have two connectors, same as the machine.
******UPDATE******
I was able to exchange these hoops for a new set and the new set works much better. They go in and out of hte machine very nicely. It appears that the bracket and the plastic hoop were not sitting flush to each other and one bracket was bent. This is what caused the issues I was having. These new hoops work great!

I read another review that says these don't fit a Brother Se400 and they do! I'm using the same machine. It is nice to have a back up 4x4 hoop since the one that came with my machine gets pretty sticky. I am learning to use the big one to do bigger projects I'm not sure how big it is. I haven't used the hat hoop because I haven't had a need. Pretty good product!Best Deals for NEW THREADSRUS 3-Hoop Machine Embroidery Set for Brother SE270D
Even though the item title clearly says it will fit a Brother SE400 machine, these will not fit. DO NOT buy. Even trying to force them in they don't work. The plastic piece that should snap into place sticks out farther than the original holder and they will not lock down.******UPDATE******

Honest reviews on NEW THREADSRUS 3-Hoop Machine Embroidery Set for Brother SE270D
OK, I got my new machine, Brother LB6800THRD, and tried out these hoops. They work perfectly. Highly recommend these hoops for anyone that has the same machine I do.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for NEW THREADSRUS 3-Hoop Machine Embroidery Set for Brother SE270D
I purchased this set with some trepidation because I was new to embroidery and using a new machine, and because the cost of the Brother hoops were too pricey. Glad I did, I found that they work just as well on my my Brother LB6800PRW as the original one that came with the it. So far, I have not had any probem with the sizes and my pocket is happy!Thursday, August 7, 2014
Buy Darice Plastic Palette Knife Set
These work well enough until I can afford to purchase a metal set. They do stain but that is no big deal to me. They are easy to clean.

I am no artist, so can't tell you if these hold up to their intended purpose. I bought them to use in spreading thin layers of glue and Mod Podge and I love them. They are nice and thin, but much sturdier than I expected. The edges are smooth, no little plastic burrs. The tips are fine enough to spread glue under the edges of paper when you have gaps or bubbles. I love them.Best Deals for Darice Plastic Palette Knife Set
These are lightweight and plastic, not meant for heavy use. I will use them for teaching class and working with youth when I want to preserve my better tools. You get what you pay for, so I am not complaining. There is a place in everyone's studio for disposable tools :)Honest reviews on Darice Plastic Palette Knife Set
This has different sizes and small children are sure to find one that meets their purpose. I would recommend this for anyone looking for an inexpensive art supply.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Darice Plastic Palette Knife Set
The handles are really sturdy but the plastic by the head of the knives are only alright. Havent snapped yet but... Now I don't use them as your supposed to though. I'm a spray paint artist and needed a cheap spare set for detailing and stuff. Seem like they'll last pretty long but they are just plasticTuesday, August 5, 2014
Reviews of Chinese Chop (Chinese Ink Stamp) Set- Blank Dragon Stone
Mine came with a box that was unraveling and a chop that was broken as well as the paint cup..I sent them a message with NO responce..that is why I give this product a 1 on a scale of 10.

The seal paste (stuff in red) was of lower quality, but it is useable. By lower quality I mean student level, it is more of an ink cake than a paste, but it works for stamping on artwork and what not. The stone is just a regular stone, nothing terribly special about it, it's just a regular quality soapstone. mind you that I am comparing this product with professional products. for example, a quality seal paste would cost 2-4 times as much as this whole set, and a quality seal stone could cost 3-??? times as much as this entire set.. But I would not condemn this set to be something that would be inferior to use as one's own official seal/art seal.Best Deals for Chinese Chop (Chinese Ink Stamp) Set- Blank Dragon Stone
I really like Chops. I liked to make them using white erasers and have an extensive collection that I have used for many years. Then I decided I wanted to try to make a Chop using soap stone and did that. I liked the Chinese Chop set.Tuesday, July 1, 2014

I purchased these to replace my PENTEL Color Brushes which I can't get anymore.
They were in no way the same thing, but these are so great I can't stop drawing with them! I recommend looking at the various instructional videos on YouTube before purchase to realize the full potential of these pens you'll be surprised how much you can actually do with them. Also look into to getting quality paper you'll need it when blending colors, etc.
Definitely do not regret this purchase, and would recommend for the amateur artist!

Review of Plaid 21700 Paint By Number Kit, Majestic Peacocks, 16-Inch
This was a fairly easy and successful project. It's nice not having to mix the colors like a lot of sets require now a days.
The picture came out very vivid and the picture on the box is pretty much what the end result is.

I've done several paint by number kits and this one turned out the best of the ones that I've done to date. The quality of the paints and board were good. The directions were accurate. The end result was consistent with the picture on the box. Overall great kit.Best Deals for Plaid 21700 Paint By Number Kit, Majestic Peacocks, 16-Inch

The colors are amazingly bright, a little color goes a long way, and they don't get all over everything because of the "skin" they form when left alone for a while in a drawer.Used on duck fabric with a stencil. Applied with a stiff brush for stencils. Waited several days as suggested then embellished with hand and machine stitching. Definitely will purchase more colors.
