I had heard about the pan pastels, but never used them or saw them used. I discovered that they are easy to use, and the pastels are in clear containers that protect them, yet you can easily see the color at a glance. They are easily to use and the pastel stays long, without too much dust. You can tone an area quickly and then go over with more detail.

It appears that I received a different set of files. Mine has orange handles instead of blue, and some of them are not straight. The overall quality of the product was low, and was barely usable.

I only had big files, so these will come in handy. I would also like it, if there were files like these at half the size for really tiny projects but these should do fine. I only used it once to clean a toy battery terminal after it corroded. worked fine, better than sandpaper on a finger.

These are so, so cute, I've got them in green and blue also. I really like them, I would have given 5 stars but the elastic thread they come on is so flimsy! The nice thing is the beads are very durable and hold color. When my aqua colored one snapped off my wrist not a single bead was dinged as they scattered across the floor. Ended up using them to make another bracelet :D

Its the Sizzix embosser that I really don't like. It's too hard to get the folders moving through the machine with the rotating arm & then you need to make sure you have a good cardstock otherwise the process will tear up your paper.

I suppose these could be handy for just about anything, even cleaning; but in my case, I use it for my artwork. There are different tips-rounded and pointed. Material is best described as the spongy inside part of a marker that holds the ink; except it has no ink. A buddy of mine let me have one of theirs to try it out. Works beautifully for India ink drawings, and gives a nice comfortable smooth stroke, not limited to thin and thick lines. Also experimented with dipping in mineral spirits to smudge any crayon-type paint sticks. Had lots of fun with it! It comes in a smaller package of 6, but trust me, you're going to want the bucket-size.

I was really surprised at the quality of these bamboo needles. Although 12 inches seems like a lot, when working in a circle it can get kind of tight. I've found the "cable" to be flexible and easy to manage. A great deal. I'll be looking for the 16 inch set next. The only draw back so far is that the needles are a little rough. Not so much that the yarn snags, but it's not very slippery. Hopefully with some use they'll develop a nice patina. For the price I'm not complaining!

I love these. They don't make any clacking noise, they are smooth without being too slippery, and are just the right length to make things like leg warmers without stretching the item.

My only concern is how long the flexible plastic tubing will last. They kink right where they are connected to the bamboo needles while you are using them because they are fairly short, but they show no signs of cracking so far with hours of use.

I like these so much I'm hoping that if/when the first one splits I can get replacement tubing.

Later on May 27: They are still going strong with regular daily use.

Again on September 27, 2013 Still hanging in there. I have knitted on a regular basis, with no problems yet. I'm pleased.

Look very carefully at the photo on the website as that is the item you will receive.

I purchased this item to knit legwarmers, sleeves, and tube socks.

Pros:

The set of 14 needles arrive in a resealable plastic pouch for storing them when not in use. There is a warranty provided by the manufacturer which requires your order number and registration at the manufacturer's website. The cables are good, well-secured to the needles, and there are no bumps or rough edges. The needles are very smoothly tapered bamboo, lightweight and the branded needle sizes are suitably dark making them easy to read.

Con:

The length of the needles are too long to utilize these circulars as they are intended to knit in the round. The needle length also prevents the use of these needles as replacement straight needles; it is too difficult to turn the work and knit stitches without snapping the needle points.

Imagine a circle, such as, the lid of a mayonnaise jar... the needle length must allow you to complete the circle by becoming part of the arc. A larger circle would have a larger arc, so the needles can be longer. A smaller circle would necessitate a smaller needle length. The length of the needle is crucial because it is inflexible and does not bend.

I have every set of circular needle lengths available, including the 9". The 9" have needles which are 1" long and have a metal tang which adds 1/2" allotting 1 1/2" in a 9" circle. The tang on the 9" needles are also bent to help complete the curve of a circle. On a 16" circular, the needle is 3 1/2".

A 12" circular should have a needle length somewhere in between those two sizes, i. e., 1 1/2" to 3 1/2".

The needles on this set of 12" circulars is 4"!

It is aggravating to purchase something which is the wrong size, or does not fit, but to buy an item which is completely unusable has me steaming.

Instead of returning the needles, which would be a hassle, I'm considering cutting their length with a hacksaw and purchasing tubing to make up the difference. Have to decide if it is worth my effort.

These needles are just not long enough for me to be able to use comfortably. 14 inch needles maybe but not 12 inch. I mainly ordered them to get a 7mm needle as it is extremely hard to come by especially in a bamboo needle. I would not order them again.

The fine tip is great for detailing. This is my second order of them I didn't finish the first pack but I wanted to make sure I had more on hand! They last for a long time. I use them to design my own plastic cellphone cases. As a tip to anyone wanting to do the same, cover it in clear nail polish when done because they do chip semi-easily. Nail Polish remover (acetone) is the easiest way to take it off. Dip a Q-tip in acetone, and it's like an eraser on a pencil.

This was part of my 1st Amazon order. I paid $10.71USD for it then; I see the price is lower now ..

Where to begin with the problems .. ? 1st, The wonderful plastic carrying case opened 1st day of use and never snapped again .. The notches that hold the case together come out, the pens are difficult to stand in the case, and something else separated. I'll get back to you when I figure out what.

Next no colour name on barrel which seems to be common with many writing utensils. Cap colour rarely has anything to do with colour marker produces also a common problem you'll see in reviews.

Here's the best!!! About 7 of the pinks or pink / violet have the same or really close colour to each other!!! And if the cap colour is a "true pink", it still writes with this pink / violet colour. There's another colour with several markers the same or similar colour production. Oy vei ..

I'm not exactly sure why these are called "fine point" and they have never made a fine line. I did learn from these tips that if you lean your hand so the tip is almost flat to the paper, it makes a big fat line that colours more area quickly.

Incidentally, Purchased from another online retailer a set of Sargent Art 120 coloured pencils, hoping it was an inexpensive copy of those nice primacolour / Sanford pencils and in that box, there were duplicates also! However, the concept that "high use colours" should have several of the colour in 1 box, is not a bad idea. Ok, so 4 white pencils can be helpful and 2 gold and 2 silver pencils is good and a treat, and they were, incidentally, quite smooth for gold / silver pencils as a whole. So in that box, although I think it was sold this way with the intent to make an artist's life easier by having several pencils of 1 colour, there were really only about 56 different colours out of 120 pencils ...

This isn't the case with their markers. There is simply something wrong at Sargent, like poor chemical mixing or laziness or where it is produced using which robots, etc.

My back is starting to hurt from this fahcoctah typing chair so I must close even though I am fairly certain I am not finished whining about Sargent Art 22-1581 50-Count Fine Tip Washable Marker Packs.

In short: don't buy these markers!!!

The concept was great. It would have been wonderful had the pens not been dried out. Over half of them did not work. My crafters were disappointed as well as myself.

Some colors are very close to others but for the price you can overlook that. The color variation is great though. Way better than Crayolas but no Prisma Colors so dont try and color great pieces of art with these. These markers are great for sketching and quick drawings. Great for teenagers and artists who are just looking for something cheap and gets the job done. Very happy with the purchase.

When I received this package the plastic case was tattered and disrupted. The markers were falling out. That goodness I can get past physical attributes because when I opened them to test them they were near perfect. All of the markers worked, none were dry as compared to some of the other reviews I saw. I did notice that many of the colors were similar...not the same...but similar in shade. I've seen worse so I wasn't too concerned about that. They do have a very nice conical tip. There are directions on the back regarding the use of the tip that were helpful and useful. I have used other broad tip Sargent markers in the past so I had a little bit of an understanding what these were going to be like. They are school grade markers at a school grade price. I like them.

Bamboo as a writing material is millennia-old. You should tailor them to fit your hand. A sharp, flat blade will do. Don't forget to work on the top side of the nib so that you have a nice edge and better flow of ink. I use soot-based ink.
