We bought this for our daughter's 6th birthday along with some of the horse coloring books on the site. It is a great stamp set and my daughter loves it. She wants to make cards and use the horses to stamp the front! What a great idea!

Best Melissa & Doug Horse Stable Stamp Set Deals
My daughter was absolutely thrilled to receive this stamp set as a gift. She likes the realistic look of the horses and their scenery. I have to say that I also prefer the idea of her creating projects with realistic horses and not "pretty ponies". The stamps work well, though the stamp pad included is a little small. We have many other Melissa and Doug products in our home, and they tend to be very durable. I'm pleased with both the quality and the price!

I bought this kit for our annual tie dye party that we have on Labor Day weekend every year. This dye kit doesn't come with the ash rinse like other kits that I have gotten, but works just as well without it. Just prewash your white shirts, and go for it. We got 12 shirts dyed with this kit, but they needed extra rubber bands for everyone to dye shirts at the same time. I would recommend getting your shirts damp before dying them, otherwise the dyes run like off of a ducks back. It had a harder time soaking into the material, but when you dampen them first, it soaked right into them. About six hours later, we just rinsed them in the kitchen sink with running cold water, and rung them out. They were them washed in cold water in the washing machine. How cool they turned out. My kids wore their newly dyed shirts to school the very next day! We got this kit and another kit that claimed to dye 8 shirts, and all together we only dyed maybe 16 shirts. You can never dye the amout the box intends, because most people put a lot of dyes on their shirts. This kit alone only dyed about 12 shirts, not 20 like the box says. It sure was a fun family day that we recommend for all ages above three years old. Kids need adult supervision, but they can do it themselves and love what the shirt looks like when they get it done.

I was very pleased with this kit. We bought the kit for my sons 7th birthday and the kids loved making the shirts. We all made spiral shirts and I was concerned about the lack of perfection with the twisting of the shirts and the haphazard application of the dyes, but they all came out great. I would recommend this as an outdoor activity or have cleaning products nearby to clean up any stains promptly. The kit states 20 shirts could be made, but it was more like 12 youth mediums. My family (and neighborhood children) used Tulip one-step tie-dye kits last summer. I found that to get vibrant colors that last I had to soak the shirts in a soda ash solution for 10-30 minutes, squeeze out the excess water, then use the product as directed. I then rolled each shirt in a plastic bag, let sit in my basement overnight, and rinsed/washed the next day (this may be in the standard directions). This an easy-to use product, the little bottles give you a great deal more control than the vats of dye we used when I was a kid! The colors available through Tulip are bright and remain brilliant as long as you follow the instructions. You can refill the bottles half-way through use(although, admitedly this will dilute the color a bit) to make the dye last longer. If you want to dye large areas it is best to use the wet dye method (apply to wet fabric) in order to have the dye bleed and spread through the fabric rapidly. If you want more control, apply the dye to dry fabric using the bottle tips. The only real problem was that the gloves provided are NOT adequate to protect your skin. I had resigned myself to having smurf-blue hands when I found a fabulous solution...MR. Clean Magic Eraser! Just add a little water and scrub, the dye comes off quickly and easily. Now that we have found such an easy solution, I think we will let the kids do this much more often. I got these to use for various projects with my toddler. The product itself is good the colors are nice, and stay bright when mixed with a fair amount of water/play dough/vinegar (we make "colored fizz" with this and baking soda/whatever.
However, they are not truly washable they've stained several surfaces in our kitchen and nearly all of the bottles started leaking after one or two uses, so they get pretty messy.
They're good enough that I'll probably keep using them, but I'll look for a different brand the next time I buy.

I painted a kitchen window in a vineyard scene. This paint set allowed me to be creative, but I couldn't manage a dark enough green (for my liking). The project turned out pretty well, regardless. I just kept adding coats and blending colors until I got the look I wanted. These paints are amazing! I wanted to paint some of the windows in my home and I wasn't 100% sure what colors I wanted to use, but when I bought these this set was priced at under $30. That's a phenomenal price, because it's around $3 per bottle if you buy the bottles individually. It was worth it to me to have so many colors to experiment with while I decided what I wanted on my windows, and I plan to use as much as the paint as possible painting sun-catchers as holiday gifts. If they're priced at less than $2.99/bottle and you want a variety of colors to play with, this set is a great value! I love the idea of this item. The process was extremely simple and I received it quickly. The stamp does not consistently deliver evenly, however. I am new to watercolor pencils and have been experimenting with different brands. I use them with rubber stamp impressions. The Staedtler brand has recently been improved and I do notice a difference compared to the set I bought several years ago. The set offers a good selection of rich and vibrant colors. They mix together well and don't leave a waxy residue on your work. The true magic happens when you add water. I have tried the suggested techniques on how to use the pencils and I have been very happy with the results. Winsor & Newton Cotman Field Plus Watercolor Travel Set, 12 Reviews
Since I like to collect art supplies, I picked up this set shortly after it was released. If waterbrushes were not becoming so readily available, this set would be a convenient portable sketching kit. In reality, it is rather bulky for sketching on-the-go. It does have a generous amount of mixing palettes space and its 4-half-pan holding brackets are practical for quickly customizing the color choices in the set. The water bottle and holding caps are not so useful, but add some small convenience for those that like to carry this kit in an art bag around as a source of water for refilling waterbrushes and holding small watercolor washes. I have removed the original Cotman pans and replaced them with artist grade watercolors for increased performance. I would avoid this set at MSRP, but it's worth a look once it gets discounted if you like to have several options of watercolor boxes available.

There are some great things about this set. The numerous wells and compact size for one. BUT, when I took it out for a test drive on location, I picked it up out of my pack to open it and the bottle fell off. It does so every time I pick it up. I thought maybe I had the bottle in wrong, but after close examination didn't. So I'm giving it one star since it's fairly useless in it's functionality. I guess I'll put some kind of strap around it. Also the brush doesn't have a cap of any kind, so is loose in the kit allowing the hairs to get bent. Faber-Castell Polychromos Colored Pencils (sets) set of 12 Review

I bought the twelve set just to experiment with the laydown of the colors and I've been wishing I hadn't. I LOVE POLYCHROMOS! I am quite particular in terms of my use for colored pencils. My criteria is heavily pigmented, highly opaque, excellent lightfast, smooth laydown, and lastly, dense coverage (I know so picky). Polychromos pencils fulfill all my criteria about at least 85% each or higher (lowest being the coverage, of course it could be the paper I'm using).
The pigmentation is what I would expect from professional grade colored pencils so not really a big hoorah there. Its just typical of high grade CP's. The opacity however, is very excellent. Two swatches of the same color from the polys and another high end (more expensive) brand and the swatch from the polys came out more vibrant and more coverage!
Coverage is a big deal for me! I have struggled with CP's that can't seem to cover all of the paper. But polychromos does the trick. I can get a satisfactory 85% coverage or higher if I want. And layering colors is actually much easier and more visible than my other high end brand that I currently own so that's also a very big plus.
The lightfastness is actually astonishing at least from the other brands I have researched. About 85 percent of the 120 pencils have an excellent lightfast rating, about 13 percent are medium lightfast, and only two pencils are on the lowest spectrum of the polychromos line. Which is exceptionally satisfactory for me. I know my drawings won't fade too fast for at least 100 years give or take however long I live. Heh.
Anyways, sorry for the looong review, but I absolutely adore these pencils and when I finish my other high end pencils, I am definitely going after these. But the whole set.
BTW, 12 color sets of any medium is not enough for testing in my opinion. More is better!

Everybody screams Prismacolor, but I have to say I am not a fan like the others. I love most of the Derwent lines and now that I tried these, I would say they are neck in neck with Derwents. The creamy texture is divine and the color saturation is amazing. Got these as an alternative to buying a set at the game store, which would have cost more. Some of the brushes are never going to touch paint due to their odd size. But most are of good shape and material. Also the handle shape and length is good.
