Addi turbos are absolutely the best circular needles if you like to knit fast. They are very smooth and slippery and the yarn just comes around without having to constantly push it. I have about nine in different needle and length sizes and love them all. The join area never has a bumpy part where yarn gets stuck, unlike in some circulars. I don't know if it's a different metal, but they are completely different to knit on than cheaper metal needles. The only problem I've ever had is with one needle getting squished when it ended up on the floor of my car and got stepped on. But even that one is still usable. Just make sure to choose the right length. I'd use 9" or 12" for hats, so you can stay on circulars as long as possible (though the 9's would be tough for bigger hands). Probably 16" for a kid's sweater. I haven't yet tried magic loop with these, but that would call for a longer length I believe. Oh, the only people who might not like these circulars are people who's biggest peeve is having yarn fall off and prefer to knit with something "sticky" like bamboo. But get these if you want your yarn to slide around easily.

I love these needles, they do not snag, are crisp and easy to use. price is reasonable; I've used bamboo and alum. but, these are far better needles.

This set is of extremely poor quality. Every material is cheap. Some people might try to rationalize that it's okay to give something like this to a child, because hey, kids don't care if the supplies are crap, right? Well, some kids do care, and the ones who don't know any better will still be frustrated that the materials don't "work" properly. The colored pencils don't even compare in quality to Crayola colored pencils, which aren't the best quality from an artist's standpoint. The pastels are junklike oily crayons...again, a set of Crayola oil pastels are of much better quality than these (Crayola actually makes a pretty good set of oil pastels, and Amazon sells them). The "watercolor cakes" are a complete joke. They're lightly glued in, and every time the case is closed, several of them fall out. The drawing pencils are so cheap that you'd do way better to just use a regular #2 school pencil to draw with. Ours also came with markers, which were the extremely low quality type you get when you buy a book from the dollar store with markers included...horrible. My kids were gifted two sets over Christmas, and while we appreciate the thought behind it, it was shocking how crappy the quality of ALL the materials was.

It's unbelievable that this set could be priced as high as $39.99. Right now it's on sale for $12.95, but honestly, it's still not worth even that much. Don't fall for the temptation to get "80 pieces" for just a few bucks. Those 80 pieces will either end up in the garbage, or cause your budding artist much frustration and disappointment.

Before I sound like an art-supply snob (I'm not!), let me say that this review is not in any way about me trying to sound superior and saying how the expensive professional supplies are superior to discount-store supplies. This is me saying that, while there *are* better options out there than Crayola-type supplies, this set makes Crayola-type supplies look like expensive professional supplies in comparison. I'm saying that these materials are absolute junk, not fit for anyone to use. I felt obligated to do a review, to save someone from wasting even a few bucks on something this bad. You'd do so much better to buy separate, decent sets of oil pastels, watercolors, colored pencils, and drawing pencils. None of these items are expensive on their own, anyway. Again, Crayola makes decent oil pastels and colored pencils. But for just a few dollars more, Michael's and Hobby Lobby sell brands that are artist quality, for reasonable prices; you could probably pick up all these supplies for less than $30 and have quality, lasting art supplies for your child (or yourself).

I received this set as a well meaning gift from someone who knew I was an artist thinking it would be the perfect gift for me. While the quality is definitely far below the quality I use and would buy for myself it isn't all that horrible either. Well, except for the brushes. Give the brushes to a young child to use with their watercolors and poster paints.

Generally, I use the watercolors and color pencils when I'm doing quick drawings and sketches to add a bit of color. And all the products on one thing or another when working out ideas so I'm not using up my better products at the idea stage of things. There are pieces I actually think of as finished art after using these products, along with other more expensive art supplies.

It's a rather nice set for a Junior or Senior High School student who is a budding artist as well as the beginning adult hobbyist. Not bad for the seasoned artist to use when working out ideas or to add color to quick sketches or doodles.

If you think buying this set at this price is going to give you the same sort of products like Prismacolor or Derwent pencils, Winsor Newton Cotman Watercolors, and Holbein Artist's Oil Pastel then you are madder than a hatter and residing on the wrong side of the looking glass.

I am a fairly picky buyer especially around quality on amazon products, and this certainly met the mustard. If you are a total art expert and require some very high-end or specific things, then maybe you're best buying your items at an art store individually... but for the rest of us this is great!

I enjoy sewing garments from time to time, and bought this bundle of sewing thread to re-stock my pitiful thread/spool supply. I was a bit hesitant as I usually buy a different brand, but was drawn in by the price. I am happy to say that this thread seems as good, if not better, than the major brand I had been purchasing. I found this out when I made a mistake with a skirt I had been making and needed to use my seam ripper to cut and pull out the stitching I had done. I was amazed how strong this thread is as I with force had pulled the thread quite hard and it did not break easily at all. I'm very impressed not only with the strength of this thread, but also with the colors provided in the 24 spool set. This thread breaks very easily just from pulling at it to tighten a knot when you're hand-sewing! Also, the color choices are weird. There's no red, gray or brown. Seriously? Those are among the most common fabric and apparel colors! Instead of red there's pink and hot pink (?!?), instead of gray there are three grayish shades of blue, on top of the bright eye-popping blue. And there's one dark brown which is more like black. The picture is misleading. Most of these colors are useless to me. Overall, very disappointing.

It isn't the best quality, but for the price it was a great deal. We haven't had any issues with it yet so there is nothing to complain about. We don't sew a lot, but it is nice to have a set that includes a lot of general colors incase we ever have an emergency task come up.

I gave this to my niece and she loved it. These color by number sets are great for anyone who likes to do art projects but enjoys having some guidance. I've never been very good at free drawing myself and always liked doing paint or color by numbers as well. So far my niece has gotten it half done and it looks quite good so far!

These are exceptionally nice pastels. Very soft and rich in pigment. They are handmade right here in the U.S. I recommend them. BUT, don't bother ordering them from Amazon. You'll just end up with a lot of messy dust and no pastels.

I ordered these pastels from Amazon because the price was very good compared to other places. I had to wait quite a while before they shipped. Unfortunately, when they arrived, they were CRUSHED. Not just broken ( a pastelist can make use of broken pastels). About six of the sticks were crushed to total powder. Totally unsalvageable. Amazon shipped them with no protective packaging whatsoever; they just shipped them in the tray that they came from the manufacturer in, rather than putting them into an additional padded shipping carton. Unfortunately, I was in desperate need of some of the colors in the box, so I went ahead and kept them rather than send them back. I also had a 25 piece set of fleshtones and landscape greens on order with Amazon, but after the first box arrived in such bad condition, I canceled that order and went directly to the manufacturer for the other sets.

The maker/owner of Mt. Vision pastels was excellent to work with. He matched Amazon's price on the pastels and shipped me replacements of the colors that Amazon had broken (and he sent the replacements at no charge!!!). The pastels he sent were carefully packaged to ensure safe shipping, and they arrived without so much as a chip broken off.

Buy the pastels. You'll love them. But buy them directly from Mt. Vision or another retailer who understands the proper care of art supplies.

Luckily my pastels arrived in good condition, however, I agree with another reviewer they were shipped in the original box with no additional protection and the box was not even secured with any tape. This would be equal to sending a music CD without the protective plastic with a mailing label placed on the CD cover. I guess I am fortunate that no one along the way did pastels and just needed one or a few of them. I had received a 5 piece set that was entirely crumbled but they made good on it. Clearly someone returned them and they placed the box with no foam in it into a plastic bag ( filled with dust by the time I received it). I have received several other large sets and they arrived in good condition but they were placed inside an additional package with air filled wrapping. I really like Amazon but they do not have enough knowledge of pastels and the care they require.

As to the pastels they are wonderful! Colors are wonderful. Mount Vision pastels are very soft and you will love painting with them.

You may want to stick to ordering from art supply stores. Too bad they didn't listen to the concerns of the first reviewer. If they had taken steps to address the concern I would not be writing this review to suggest you use another provider.

I recently started making jewelry, so I wanted an entry level all-in-one plier kit to see how much I would enjoy my new found hobby. The first day I used the pliers, the handle on the chain nose pliers started to bleed red on my hand after 30 minutes. I solved this problem by wrapping the handles in tape to prevent color transfer. The only color transfer issue I had was with the red handled plier. My other issue is with the quality. I've only been using the pliers for three weeks, but I'm noticing that the wire cutters are already rough. I expect this to occur over time, but I feel three weeks is a bit too soon. I just purchased better pliers after three weeks of using this set, so I should have invested the money I spent on this set with better pliers in the first place. I do like the storage case that came with this set because it helps keep them organized.

I bought a couple of sets of these tools for my beginning jewelry making students to use, and I was quite surprised with the quality. They feel good in your hand. The different color handles make it easy to pick up the right tool. My students especially liked the carrying case. This is priced as a beginning set of tools, but you'll continue to use them for all your basic jewelry making.

18 Kraft Edgers Scissor Class Set Reviews

I love scrapbooking and stamping/card making. I was also an elementary teacher. As far as something that would have been good in the classroom, these are amazing. They are not overly sharp so you don't have to worry about little fingers getting hurt with these. As a teacher, these get 5 stars.

As a paper crafter, they fall a bit short. On thinner papers, such as notebook paper or construction paper, these cut beautifully. However, when cutting cardstock (a much thicker paper) they seem to have an exceedingly hard time getting through the paper without leaving pieces that are not fully cut. As a result, you end up having to re-cut and the lines do not look as sharp or clean. I wish I had known that before buying them but at least I can still use them on thinner papers. So, if you are looking for some nice scissors for cardstock, please find something else.

Also, this same set is available from another seller on Amazon for a bit cheaper (at the moment I write this they are $7 cheaper) and the shipping is free on that set as well. They are labeled as "Rotating Wood Scissor Organizer With 18 Assorted Kraft Edger Scissors" but it appears to be the same set by the same manufacturer with the same number of scissors in the set.

I got these scissors from Sam's Club and they are wonderful. They cut well. The blades meet properly and the handle is solid, well-built. My kids love them for crafts; and I use them occasionally, as well. There are so many choices of edging, I sometimes find it hard to choose, but it's nice to have that problem.

The rotating stand is handy for keeping all the scissors together and ready to go. It's made of wood and also a quality product. This set is great for classrooms and scrapbookers alike.

Kids could have fun with these but I don't really consider them to be toys. I am a paper crafter and love the different edges I can cut with these. I use them for fancy edges on cards and scrapbook embellishments. I use the "Mini Peaks" design to cut leaves with serrated edges for artificial flowers.

I take exception to the first "review" of this product. The writer didn't even purchase them and is just complaining about the cost of shipping.

Purchased these to do more in depth work on a paint by number. Did have a few bristles come loose after the paint got all the way up to where it joined the handle, but vigourously washing them in running water seems to have gotten all the loose ones out. I like the fact that the package, when opened properly, can also function for storage. The price was certainly right.

Overall, they're nice for the small amount of work I've done with them.

In the picture, these appear to be yellow, but the seller reassured me they're crystal (white) but just look different colors depending on the reflection of lighting. Which was correct.

They're perfect. The heart is a little over a 1 cm. It reflects light well, and is the perfect size for the project I'm doing. Very happy with these, as well as the 18mm one :)
