This acrylic block set met all my needs. 4 sizes and round shapes with scalloped edges making them easy to hold. Each block is thick and substantial enough for unlimited stamping, plus they are simple to clean with soap and water.
Because of the flower shape around, it is easier to grip. These are great. Definitely would recommend these

List Price: $33.99

This set is a great 'beginner' set for anyone who would like to learn calligraphy. The pens included are not high quality, but they are more than sufficient for practice. The paper provided is like tracing paper, and allows you to place it over a practice source and trace each letter or sentence. Sometimes the ink can bleed through the paper, so be careful not to press too hard.
Pros:
Many ink refills included in the package
A good basics of calligraphy book included
Priced very well
Cons:
The pens are not high quality, but that hardly matters at the price.
Summary:
This is a great bargain for anyone who would like to start calligraphy. Also would be a great Christmas present for an artistic child.
(I was trying a dip pen last night, and found that the dip pen did produce the thins that I was looking for. However, you of course trade the nice writing for the dipping inconvenience.
Pros:
Lots of colors included
Price
The smallest nib works well enough for non calligraphy use (as a general fountain pen)
Cons:
Ink bleeds
In short, the set is not for everyone. I'll be switching to dip pens.

Wonderful starter set. Comes with plenty of Ink Refills. A user guide on getting started with various styles of calligraphy is included, along with Transparent Paper to place over the styles to practice. I love it, and recommend it highly for anyone wishing to experiment with calligraphy.Best Deals for Sheaffer Calligraphy Maxi Kit (SH/73404)
An excellent starter kit for anyone interested in learning the art of the calligraphy. Contains many different ink colors and three different nib sizes as well as a small booklet on the basics of different types of fonts to write with. The gothic style is my favorite and my writing with this set is actually a lot better looking than my regular handwriting.Honest reviews on Sheaffer Calligraphy Maxi Kit (SH/73404)
I have been doing calligraphy for many years, always love these pen sets, by sheaffer. They do exactly what is expected! The ink window is a nice touch. I never realized one short letter can use 1/2 a tube of ink.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Sheaffer Calligraphy Maxi Kit (SH/73404)
I was looking for a quick way to play around with calligraphy, so I bought this set based on the reviews. The biggest issue I have with this set is the 'thins'. I find that unless you are really flying as you write, the ink bleeds horrendously, leaving very little difference between thicks and thins. Not good for the beginning calligrapher who doesn't have the skill to go fast.(I was trying a dip pen last night, and found that the dip pen did produce the thins that I was looking for. However, you of course trade the nice writing for the dipping inconvenience.

So far the brushes are working well, but the handles are really short. I wanted short ones because some brush handles get really long, but I wasn't expecting how short they are.The brushes themselves are well constructed and the brushes aren't losing hairs. they are very secure.

I knew this when ordering them from reading past reviews, but I'd like to emphasize that these brushes are *very* tiny. Good for detail work (which is what I bought them for), but the fanned brush is just a bit wider than my thumbnail. They're not very big. I actually bought an extra size 0 brush in case one of the brushes included in this set wasn't small enough for what I wanted to do, but I really didn't need to do that. All in all, they're what I ordered and I'll edit this review later after I've used them to rate whether they work well enough for the price.Tuesday, December 16, 2014

I really like this brand of paint and this color. However, the shade of the paint is darker then in the pic. Its looks great with a thin coat of Folkart Extreme Glitter Turquoise over it.

I fell in love with my Silhouette cameo and I use it to cut all the time. It came with a set of pens that I just ended up tossing in a drawer. I saw them used by someone on a scrapbooking message board so I decided to try them out. Talk about easy and beautiful! The sketch designs that come with the pen set are also lovely. I have been using them quite a bit and not one has ran out of ink yet.

I bought these to kick start my use of the cameo for sketch designs. I found the pens to be useful and peaked my creativity as they come a large range of colors for use in a number of projects. They are not designed for large production of the same item as they don't contain a large amount of ink. It is just what it says a "starter kit." Once you get used to sketching with the cameo, I recommend for large volume projects, to get the pen adapter and purchase a few pens that hold large volumes of ink.Best Deals for Silhouette Sketch Pen Starter Kit
These pens came in and they all work. I was so excited to see that the colors are very rich and actually the colors they appear to be... which as a paper artist we know is super important. I love too that I can use them as journaling pens with the Silhouette fonts and TT fonts... AWESOME buyHonest reviews on Silhouette Sketch Pen Starter Kit
The pens have tendency to not product smooth consistent results. You can see the fine to thick areas where the pen released more ink. Maybe I need to use mine more but the first few images I've produced I've been satisfied but wouldn't use them for professional projectsFind helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Silhouette Sketch Pen Starter Kit

Best Pro Art Bullet Point Marker Set, 100-Pack Deals

This set provides a wide variety of bright, transparent, water-based colors that can be used as is for graphics style artwork, or the drawing can be brushed with clear water for a watercolor effect.
The tips are cone-shaped, like a pencil point, facilitating drawing fine lines (with the point) or broad strokes (with the side of the tip).
The inks are non-toxic, so many of the pigments are probably not very light-fast. Therefore, artwork should be kept out of direct sunlight.
My only complaint would be the packaging, but I am the kind of person who is willing to put in a little effort to customize my 'setup.' The markers come in a little plastic caddy that is somewhat flimsy. I have not had a problem with it falling apart or anything like that; it just sometimes tilts to one side and makes sliding the marker back into the two slots a little difficult. (When shifted, the bottom holes so not align with the top.)
Again, with regards to the packaging, the markers are not labeled by color, but rather by number. The set I purchased, the #s are gold and on a white background. This makes them a bit difficult to see. If you want your colors in a prismatic order, and are willing to invest a little time, You can label the lids by #, as I did, and make a corresponding chart. A little overboard I know, but I try to color symmetrically and so want the colors to 'flow'.
The #s that are listed on the markers correspond to a tiny, barely legible chart on the front of the plastic box it comes in. The colors shown are not at all true to the actual markers; they are shown against a black background and are very dark and dull. I have barely looked at the names, making a color chart made it irrelevant.
Still, aside from the original effort in organizing the markers, and a warning to move the caddy with a little care, I do recommend these markers as a really good deal with a decent variety and quality for the price.
Function and longevity is fine. This may be petty, but it would be quite helpful to have the markers numbered or the colors named. To keep them from rolling around, I return them to their rack after use. Very dificult to find a specific marker to re-use if wanted, particulary if it is in a blue/green shade.
Too much money for what's there, stick with Crayola or go for the gold with a Tombow or Prismacolor set.

I have recently began coloring as a stress reliever and to keep my hands busy. (Nervous nail biting habit otherwise) I found these at Michael's for 20, but then of course researched here and found them for less. I have posted a few pictures, hopefully to help interested buyers get an idea of the colors included. There is an excellent variety in this set. The markers so far have proven bold and well inked. Highly recommend cardstock or better. :)My only complaint would be the packaging, but I am the kind of person who is willing to put in a little effort to customize my 'setup.' I paint/draw for my own pleasure, so I did not want to spend big bucks for a professional set of markers. I have a 50 marker set by Crayola, wanted more "in-between" shades. One would assume that with 100 markers, every conceivable shade would be included. I felt that this set was lacking in pinks and yellows, also there is no white marker.Function and longevity is fine. This may be petty, but it would be quite helpful to have the markers numbered or the colors named. To keep them from rolling around, I return them to their rack after use. These markers have a good variety of colors. Not all have a good supply of ink. The points are well defined, and will make a fine line if held straight up. A broad line can be made if held to the side. The ink level in some brings the value down.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Pro Art Bullet Point Marker Set, 100-Pack
I really enjoy these markers. Acid free with great color lay down. But I didn't get 100 colors. Only about 88. Many duplicates so therefore was missing several colors. It's no huge deal, but a few colors I wanted weren't there. Still great art tools, but I feel a wee bit cheated. I am sure it was not the seller's fault, but manufacturer error.
