What is there to say about these. They are cheap and they work. They lock, which is good, and they are sharp. I use them to open my Amazon packages and other knife uses that I wouldn't want to wear out a more expensive knife with.

I got this for my 11th birthday and I was so excited! The easel is great, the canvas is great quality, and the paints are very nice. This is definitely a great buy for its price. It is a really good set for beginners, or people that are more advanced. Also, the paint tubes were all the way full and I will be able to make many pieces of artwork with these paint. It is a great product for an on the go painter. the carrying case is very nice and has much more room for new paints and canvas. I am glad that I have this.

I bought this kit because I'm not sure how much painting I will actually do. I think its a great beginner kit that basically has everything that one would need to paint. I do wish it came with a beginner's book and a sketch pad of some type, but for the price, I think it's a great deal for those who want to dabble in painting. Mine did not arrive broken as some other reviewers have mentioned.

I am a full time artist and go through brushes fairly quickly so I am always looking for more of my favorites, filbert and round brushes. I tried these royal brown brushes, and they work just fine. No loose hairs coming out, they hold their shape and work very well. I would recommend these brushes and would even give them as a gift. I may buy them again in the future.

I gave it 5 stars because "I love it." If I liked it I would've given it 4 stars; I know how to read. I bought this set of brushes along with there other 12 piece "Zip N' Close" set of brushes. I appreciate that all the quality went into the brush production for the buck you pay and left me with garbage for a "Zip N' Close" package. Probably why you can't find better brushes for the money I paid.

If you have good or better hand strength and want to carry a lot of tools with you, these are for you.

Smaller tools have less leverage.

You have to use a lot more force to get the same result.

I liked that they were lighter and I could carry them in my purse or small bag that came with them.

They are tiring to use, but work fine.

I absolutely love these tiny pliers. I mainly make chainmaille and find that the tiny size is perfect for working with smaller rings and in tight spaces. I use them more often than my larger pliers. I bought the Angular, Round and Filbert/Wash brush from this brand and I loved it. So naturally these are at the same standard as well. Soft and durable. Plus it comes with 12 brushes at different sizes. Very convenient.

While not technically high-end brushes, I find these easy to use and easy to clean. They are good for detail work, which is what I needed them for. I recommend these for beginners to mid level artists. A good buy.

I am reviewing Vol 1 and Threads Industry Insider Techniques DVD Vol. 2 By The Each together. Louise Cutting is an awesome instructor. She's serious about her techniques and will help you get professional results. She and Judy Neukam more personable in Vol I and Judy's commentary is better too. Cutting's style in Vol II seems a bit flatter; Neukam seems a step behind. However, these are minor quibbles. You'll learn a lot from Cutting, I promise. Please note that some of the techniques are for sergers.

Here's what you'll see in Vol I:

-Serge Quick French Seams

-Fuse & Interface a Hem

-Hem Sheers with Ease

-Mold the Smoothest Darts

-Draft & Sew The Perfect Collar

-Miter An Asymmetrical Corner

There's something here for advanced and beginner sewers. I'm not sure if all of the techniques are couture, but at least four were inspired by Armani. The Carefully Clipped Curves segment is worth the You Tube fee by itself. The lapel segment introduced me to the world of fusible tapes. even though I'm not ready to try tailoring, I was able to transfer some of the info to my knit projects. (I am now the biggest fan of fusible knit stay tape.) I'm almost proficient in Steam-A-Seam, thanks to the videos!

I'm more familiar with Vol II than Vol I, because I've rented Vol I and I own have Vol II. I want to get the DVD of Vol I for the dart info. This was an approach I've never seen before and it makes much more sense than what's found in the pattern instructions. The hem technique in Vol I was really easy. I'm looking forward to trying it. I haven't attempted any projects that would require the use of the other techniques in Vol I yet. When I'm ready to tackle shirts with collars, I will skip to Cutting's method from Vol I.

In conclusion, these DVDs are fabulous. These would make a wonderful addition to your sewing library. No matter what your skill level, you could use this info. The techniques are useful and well-presented. You will be able to do them on your own after watching.

Lightweight Aluminum Easel with Travel Bag Review

I was a little iffy about purchasing such a cheap easel for my large sketchbook drawings and heavy canvas paintings, though was pleasantly surprised to find that this easel is VERY durable and can hold my heaviest sketchbooks and canvases without becoming "shaky." I am 6'4" tall and am able to stand comfortably while using this easel and can still use it as a tabletop easel if I'd like. If you are a college art student like me, you can understand how difficult it is to haul around all of your supplies across campus. This easel can completely fold down into a small bag (included) that I can easily fit into my backpack, which doesn't cause a strain on my long walks. I was pleased with the price, durability, and light, compact size of this easel and I strongly recommend it for start-up artists like me and other college students.

This is a great easel! It's extremely light, and surprisingly compact--and it even comes with a bag! I'm used to the traditional, very heavy wooden easels, so I was a little afraid that it'd be shaky, since it's so light, but it's been fairly steady--watch out for wind though. I love that it can be adjusted to a table-top easel too! Great to carry around, bring on trips, etc. All this for a great price! Two complaints: 1) the top part that holds the easel, if adjusted too high, doesn't always stay straight--but that's not a problem if the easel's holding a canvas or sketchpad. 2) it opens rather wide, so it's a little hard to use in smaller spaces. Overall though, this was a great buy, I'm so glad I decided on this one!

I recently purchased this easel for oil/acrylic painting. I normally use a 11x14 canvas and it fits in the easel clip like a glove.

For being as lightweight and simple as it is, it's very sturdy.
