Cheap Tandy Leathercraft Industrial Knife Set with Blades 3595-00
I am getting into leather work a bit more seriously and wanted a decent knife, but not to pay a fortune for one. This looked like the real deal. It is well enough made, with a hardwood handle and brass fittings. After a while the knife did not hold the blades. Not sure if it is the blade holder or the blades themselves that are the cause. Nevertheless, this knife is nice in the hand, and performs pretty well. Eventually I may get a top class knife and keep this as a back up.alittle spendy but well worth the feel of the knife and quality of the blades, and once you have the handle tandy sells the blades rather cheap.

I'm a big fan of the Spellbinders Shapeabilities dies, and this particular set of 7 Christmas dies makes it easy to create nice looking greeting cards. Just cut, emboss, and add glitter (Martha Stewart Crafts Glitter Glue Set-24 Count is one of my essential decorating tools). You can also use the larger dies to create gift tags for packages.
I use my Spellbinders Shapeabilities dies with a Cuttlebug machine. The directions on how to use these dies with the Spellbinders Wizard, the Big Kick by Sizzix, and the Cuttlebug by Provocraft come with every set of dies, and they are very clear and easy to follow.
If you are going to emboss using a Cuttlebug and the Shapeabilities Spellbinders dies, you will also need to purchase Spellbinders W-005 12 by 12 Tan Pad for Wizard Cutting and Embossing System.

Bought these to accent my rockstar stack from DCWV. Looks great with my photos from a recent rock concert I attended. Would be even better if these were self adhesive because most of these are transparent so you can see any applied glue or tape that you use to secure to your scrapbook pages.

I head up a large elementary art program for 27 schools. We've used these crayons in several art projects. Don't be confused by the "construction paper" part of the name. What it means is the colors lay down nicely on all colors of construction paper, especially dark. Traditional crayons are a bit too transparent on colored construction paper.
My partner teacher brought these to my attention when "mysteriously" a pack turned up in her classroom. What a find! So we both are working right now on small bookmaking on black paper we got at the dollar store anyway, and these color in fantastically. This is keeping kids actively engaged.
First of all Crayolas are the best but NOT supplied to me or my students, so every year I go buy 16 or 24 color packs for my 1st graders. I have bought 100 color packs, but not the last two years. The cost is more than I can justify. It so helps within our work to use these to illustrate ideas, highlight words, fill in data tables...it goes on and on. But it is true that on construction they aren't hardy enough on richly colored paper to show well. (So then I purchased high end Pentel pencils.) And that's a dilemma because it's all the paper we have and I know they'll soon eliminate that.
What a great thing to find that we can get a couple boxes of these to add into our rooms. This year both of us are enriching the rooms with things like gel pens and supplies that make doing your work more of a pleasure. We've both decided this is necessary. Plus of course teaching art as a part of the disciplines. My package just arrived and in November I'll re-order. It is a study box and the color range is lovely-so that it will engage my class in the "pattern books" Every month my kids make 6 to 8 page pattern books to illustrate and name patterns. One reason is that abstraction is important, a tree becomes named with a symbol and eventually named also as "A" as they'll find in math later on....I like to make the books with colored paper. These work great for drawing the frog, dragonfly, frog, dragonfly and so on.
So...If your sister teaches, your niece, someone you talk to on this site, a favorite person you know, someone you met at the coffeehouse or just it happens you have children in school or want to send a remembrance to a teacher your child had this is a pretty great gift.
If you send it in with your child the year will undoubtedly be a better one. The quality is great and I think what they did was add a bit of white into the pigment to make it a better choice for the darker colors of construction that we so often work on.They feel like all crayolas, full of wonder.

My Pre-K students love these crayons!! They are AWESOME on black paper! They are a must for any preschool classroom!Best Deals for Crayola 52-1617 Class Pack Crayola Construction Paper Crayons, 25
This has really opened up the possibilities for art activities in my library. I can't use anything messy like paint so its great to have an alternative for construction paper. I used to pass out oil pastels which are wonderful but expensive and the younger students get the colors caked on their fingers. These crayons have the texture of regular crayons. Students can also color paper bags and other colored or tinted papers. I am going to try brown paper bag puppets next.Honest reviews on Crayola 52-1617 Class Pack Crayola Construction Paper Crayons, 25
I love these crayons. I am a 2nd grade classroom teacher. They are much more vibrant and students can create a solid look more easily. I find that when they use regular crayons some of their work ends up being very pale, especially when drawing on construction paper. I use these for all my crayon needs.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Crayola 52-1617 Class Pack Crayola Construction Paper Crayons, 25

These Prisma color Markers are really great . . . worth the extra buck$. I require colors to be permanent & waterproof in the artwork that I do. Bic & Sharpie markers are handy to carry around on the go but you just cannot do better than Prisma Color. Each 2-ended marker offers several width options. Plenty of stock colors to choose from. Value-wise . . . this complete set is the best way to go.
*** I don't care much for the rack. ***
Personally, I just want the markers in a plastic/lucite box. I arrange them in rows by color families. Maybe offering the set of markers without the rack would keep the price down a bit for the buyer.
Otherwise, as you can tell, they are my favorite markers.
Thanks.
A note on the French greys: if you are going to scan and edit your renderings/drawing and reprint them, the French Greys scan EXTREMELY blue, and will look like various shades of violet when reproduced. I don't know why.
As soon as I received my shipment, I sampled each marker to test color by making a color chart. I highly recommend doing so. The label of the marker can be misleading. I'm very pleased with the quality of these markers. The colors are bold and the variety is awesome no two colors are alike, which is an issue with some brands. The quality of the colorless blender is also impressive. Usually colorless blenders take on the colors being mixed... not with Prismacolor's version! It's an interesting to create color dimension if you want to "wash out" a color that has been committed to paper.
ISSUE: The only issue I had with my marker set is two of my markers came damaged. The large nib of the "avocado" marker was torn and the small nib of the "pale jade" color did not have any ink. Both markers are still usable, however.
STORAGE: I'm not a fan of the little plastic trays. They take up a lot of space. My plan is to get some rectangle vases from Ikea to store my markers in vertically, creating a nicer display.
SMELL: These markers do have a smell. I personally don't mind too much, as it isn't too strong unless you're using metallic gold or silver.
I'll try to post my color charts along with my review. I drew on watercolor paper, which added a nice textural dimension. These markers do bleed a little, but that isn't really a big deal. I would not use the ink with thin papers.
I recommend using Faber Castell markers as an option for outlining your work. They don't bleed when pairing color over it, which is what other markers will do especially Sharpie.
I LOVE the markers themselves, but this is just a warning: the "stand" is flimsy, and won't hold them very well. It's not really a stand at all but a stack of flimsy plastic trays.
I ended up buying a new drawer set that's now next to my art table, and I keep my art supplies in there.
But the markers are fantastic. They are, contrary to popular belief, refillable. There's a video about it on youtube. Just search for the video titled "Don't throw away your markers" by Overground comics, it shows how to refill them and what to use. It's pretty nifty.
The one thing I recommend though is that you make your own color chart for them, because some of the colors are actually very different than the color printed on the wrapping. "Forest Green" (PM-184) was laughable, really. I think it actually might have been a misprinted label, it was that much of a difference.
I use cardstock with these, and so far haven't had any issues with them bleeding. I would definitely not recommend any kind of thin paper though. The ink will seep right through.

The quality and superiority of these markers is indisputable. This box contains all of the colors they make, all the different warm and cool greys, the French greys, and a collection of metalics superior to some mica inks I use with pen nibs. The colors are well arranged and precise; each pen is labeled with a matching Pantone color code number, as well as RGB values for matching or reproducing screen colors.A note on the French greys: if you are going to scan and edit your renderings/drawing and reprint them, the French Greys scan EXTREMELY blue, and will look like various shades of violet when reproduced. I'm studying Interior Design, and these markers are amazing. I only needed 75 different colors for my classes, but sprang for all of these due to the overall costand it's totally been worth it! My designs and drawings are much better looking than the others (hate to sound conceited), I'm not limited to colors, and all of the markers work perfectly. Definitely experiment with the different tips when you get them (there is bleeding), and make yourself a color chart so you know what they'll look like on paper.Honest reviews on Prismacolor Marker Sets set of 156
